Re: Leeds United v Chelsea Match Thread

I thought Gabby had more impact because he had the strength and pace to charge all the way down the line unimpeded by a winger. Maybe Bogle less so on the right. The number of times Gabby whipped the ball across was a joy - we got lucky with the third, but it was his initial run that gave us the ...

Re: Leeds United v Chelsea Match Thread

I definitely think this will have a shelf life. Clubs will adjust pretty quickly in this league. But if we can get a couple more results before the end of the year I think we can survive. Unless we sign an in-form, high quality 9 in January, we need to keep the 2 upfront imo. It suits players like ...

Re: Leeds United v Chelsea Match Thread

This formation seems to suit this squad. Not just the 5 at the back with 2 decent winbacks in Bogle and Gudmundsson, but also the 2 strikers up front. Unless you have a Haaland or such, I think its tough for most teams to play consistently with 1 up front. With Longstaff to come back into midfield ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 2nd December) Would Gary O’Neill be a sensible choice for the Elland Road hot se

O'Neill will be no improvement on Farke, plus you have to think about the disruption factor. I'm a bit fed up with all this endless waffle about "our new manager" right now. Its click bait and just takes the focus and energy from where it should be, and that's looking for solutions within the squad ...

Re: RIP To Those Departed

George Best passed away 20 years ago today.

Good article on the BBC website.

Always loved that quote - " Maradona good, Pele better, George Best".

I still believe he was one of the most naturally talented footballers the world has ever seen.

Re: Next Leeds manager poll

I think thats why, in spite of form, DF is likely to be around until the new year. I dont see any on the poll being able to turn the season around any better than Farke. I am also fearful ownership dont have the experience to successfully poach someone really better. So I am beginning to feel a bit ...

Re: Next Leeds manager poll

Objectively speaking some of them do have more to shout about at the top level than DF (a very very low bar admittedly). But those are the ones in the odds. I think thats why, in spite of form, DF is likely to be around until the new year. I dont see any on the poll being able to turn the season ...

Re: Cricket 2025

England treat a Test Match as two one day games back-to-back. McCullum's ridiculous tactics of if the ball is in reach slog it work a treat. England do not have a practice other than nets (if they can get off the golf course that is) before the Brisbane match. That coupled with Stoke's dreadfully ...

Re: Daniel Farke - Forest Press Conference Today

Dead in the water and he knows it. Nice guy, but we need someone who can keep us up. I have supported Farke to this point as I feel he deserves credit for turning round a squad in chaos when he came in and got us promoted with the clubs best statistics ever. I feel managers should not be fired as a ...

Re: Premier League 25/26 Season

The mood music to replace Farke is cranking up. Wolves give a live demonstration of how hard it is to find a replacement manager. A case of be careful what you wish for. Buyer beware. Better the devil you know.... and all that. Shrek said " change is good donkey". But is it really???? The ...

Re: Leeds United vs West Ham United Match Thread

5 x defensive headers. 3 x defensive clearances. I cant argue with the stats 64, but we were very vulnerable to crosses - throughout the game. Marking in the box was slow and tentative - against a relatively poor team. We nearly paid for it early, but for a good reactive save from Perri. It was ...

Bit of a carthorse though??
I'll take Pascal for that role anyday.
But ... I do think it was right to play him today. Must get some PL minutes - just helps with the depth.

Re: Leeds United vs West Ham United Match Thread

I didn't get to watch even though I have UK Sky in Canada as I had to fetch my wife from work in Ottawa (50 minute drive each way). So, why did Okafor go off after 46 minutes? If it turns out to be an ongoing problem Victor, I have a Fubo subscription for all PL games. Its reliable and not that ...
