Re: What are you doing today ?

Not used my printer for years. Just go to the library if I want to print something. All my quotes & invoices go by email. Not had a printer for several years, but trying to deal with my dad’s estate without one has proved impossible. Only a cheapo from Argos, my Mrs is up and running with it, me l ...

Re: Supporting Leeds United (Welcome & Introductions)

I have only spotted this thread now. I first registered a few days ago in order to comment on Illan Meslier and I gave some details there of when I began supporting Leeds Utd. From reading another thread today, regarding people's opinions etc, I saw mention of a £20 subscription and I don't appear ...

Re: General Chat

Myself and the Mrs have a bungalow we rent out and have done since 2011, wasn't out of choice at the time, just couldn't sell the place without losing a load of money. We have rented the place out since then to three different tenants, think we have been very lucky as not had too much trouble over ...

Re: General Chat

Don't forget that your income from the renting gets added to your pension for income, and could put you over the tax threshold I’m ‘only’ 53 Mr Hec, so not claiming either my private pension (which I can’t get until I’m 55) and I’m nowhere near state pension (if it still exists when I get there). Fr ...

Re: General Chat

It also depends on Barlow's emotional attachment to the property, getting respectful tenants is one thing and getting the bad ones out is another. I'm sure they'll be lots needing a place to live so maybe a short lease/contract, until some trust is built. Not sure how the capital gains tax works ...

Re: General Chat

Firstly, many thanks for all the advice given. If I am one thing it is thorough, and I am taking lots and lots and lots of advice from various people to decide my next step. Having spoken to you guys on here, mates who actually rent out, my financial advisor and various others, one general theme ...

Re: General Chat

I wouldn't advise it at the moment mate... I don't rent out, but I do inventories and check out reports for agents and Landlords.. Pro's money coming in con- it's highly taxable, and not just the profit... HMRC tax you on the turnover, so you are quids out.. Pro money coming in con - you could get ...

Re: General Chat

A bit of a random one, but does anyone rent out houses please ? Just weighing up what to do with my dad‘s house who passed away, i.e., straight sale or rent? The estate agent also threw in another option of selling my dad‘s house, and buying two houses with the proceeds and rent those out. Quite a fe ...

Re: Illan Meslier

Being new to the forum, and never having seen Leeds Utd play in the flesh, apart from friendlies in Dublin, I have never felt qualified to make contributions although I follow the discussions regularly. I have supported Leeds since 1965 when, as a fourteen year old, I chose to support them coming ...
