Re: MB Post Villa
The irony in all of this, after reading all these comments, is that nobody's wrong. I'm not going to get into arguing specific points since I don't really have the time but all of this just brings back Bielsa's own words - we are nowhere near a position to challenge for a place in Europe yet becaus...

Re: Up to 5 signings
Indeed. Dallas is what James Milner is to Liverpool, a consummate professional. When they are at full strength, he doesn't get all that many minutes, but when he does play, puts in a shift in any number of positions and rarely plays bad. Also takes penalties for Liverpool when on the field (wonder i...

Re: Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Match Thread - Klich fit, Costa in for Harrison
Stuck in an airport so didn't get to watch the game. Did I miss much?
Sounds like I'll probably skip watching the recording of the game this evening when I'm home.
Also, i also really thought Llorente would play DCM this evening. Shocked to hear Struijk was played there.

Re: Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Match Thead
We'll likely play 4 at the back due to Villa having one up front, so I think Llorente plays KP's role, with Struijk and Cooper has centre backs. Seems the logical decision given how light we are in midfield.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 26th February) Bielsa keen on Nkoulou reunion
Kevin Phillips can do one. Like most articles, total clickbait. As for Rodrigo, I wouldn't say he's injury prone. The last time he was out was due to Covid, so the niggle he has now is the only injury whilst with us. I think with a full pre-season under his belt working on forging that telepathic li...

Re: Jean-Kévin Augustin. .Loan deal ended, permanent deal in limbo.
It will remain one of lifes great mysteries. Couldn't be better put! But I wouldn't pile on Orta all that much. Seems Leipzig and Monaco were duped before us, as have Nantes after us. We're not the only ones. Sad situation for the guy if he's getting bad advice from agents/friends/etc. They'll be t...

I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Roberts loaned out and Costa sold.CHAPELALLMAN wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 9:45 am Phil Hay's views ; https://tbrfootball.com/phil-hay-says-l ... bined-20m/

Hoping that this is a wrongly heard rumour, but if true, it's very sad. What a terrible past 12 months for our club legends

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 25th February) - Leeds United expecting up to five new arrivals this summer
Makes you wonder just how good a team we could have next season if we filled the TBD spots and as seems likely, that we don't A) hold onto Casilla, Alioski, Foreshaw, Berardi, B) send no one out on loan, C) retain Harrison, and D) Some of the U23s make the step up: GKs: Meslier, TBD RB: Ayling*, Dra...

I do think sentimentality plays a part, we're a family team, tear that apart with overly ego'd prima donnas and we'll go backwards quickly Like Smudge, I agree with this quote. The team spirit is like a 12th man for us and imperative we keep that when including additions. Per the mentioned: Alioski...

Re: Reasons to be Cheerful
A few reasons to be cheerful: We are all but safe in Premier League with nearly a 3rd of the season still to go. We are playing the best and most watchable football that we’ve played for at least 20 years, and a lot more watchable than most other teams in this division. Looks like Bielsa is going t...

Re: Up to 5 signings
Not much to add, but I think 5 signings is overkill given that we have several of our talented players due back. 3 or max 4 and we should be set. In order of priority LB, Attacking Mid, Defensive Mid, and an experienced backup/mentor GK. With the seeming talent of some of the U23s mentioned previous...

Re: When you played...What positions did you play?
I've played right wing and forward when younger, and also defensive midfielder on and off, but for the last dozen or so years have been at the back, mostly as a right sided centre-half (but in 7-aside, which is common in the States), I've played any of the back three positions. Was playing on two te...

Says everything about his ability when he had a poor first 45 minutes and still won the MOTM poll on this forum based solely on that electric second 45.

Re: Player Ratings v Southampton (h)
Meslier - 9 - Cleancsheet from Spiderboy and broke PL record for cleansheets by an U21 keeper. Gathered the ball well and caught more balls rather than punching them. also made some smart saves, one from Armstrong, and one for a shot which would have been offside. Ayling - 6 - Not his best game but ...

Re: Stuart Dallas
Excellent game from Dallas again tonight. Has a wonderful habit of popping up with a goal, and might be one of the best finishers at the club. Fun statistic: Dallas leads the "defenders" goalscoring chart with 5 goals (classified a defender by the Premier League, as applied by Fantasy Premier League).

Re: Raphinha
Not enough superlatives to describe this guy. As Cjay said, our second bit of business this summer (after Bielsa has signed an extension) is to give Rapha the keys to the stadium. Absolute must is to renegotiate his contract.
