Only one year left on his contract (June 2026) this summer so wouldn't be anywhere near that amount you would have thought ?

Anyway would still be a no from me...errr unless the unthinkable happens of course.

Mere icing on the cake and pretty meaningless compared to the real prize of promotion.

In fact does anyone even remember how many times we’ve won the Championship or old 2nd Division ?

We're due a slip up at some point and Coventry are just the type of opponent to bloody our noses.

I think automatic has to be the expected and tbf Kinnear said as much to the SquareBall lads.

The club aren't expecting to scrape to promotion.
Promotion if achieved will be hard fought and hard won.

Or scraped as you prefer to call it :)

Couldn't possibly improve our squad in January and we have the best manager in the league.
It doesn’t matter though does it as surely being promoted is the target ?

Re: Where do we finish?

Honestly don’t care as long as we go up and if that means via the playoffs then so be it.

Voted to finish 2nd though as think we might tense up again during the run in but just have enough for the autos.

Re: January transfer and squad discussion.

Yet the much maligned (on here) Piroe scored more goals :P 12 goals in 30 games is hardly impressive and yes I know on minutes played blah blah blah but there was a reason he was left out and it wasn't because he was injured. That said played well on Saturday so let's hope he's now hitting top form.

Re: Premier League Thread

I think from a pr perspective he's played it perfectly. He's thrown Rashford under the bus, given the fans someone to be angry at. Lowered expectations in the media whenever he can. Used the history to his advantage And nobody even mentions that he's doing worse than Ten Hag when he got sacked ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 30th January) - Frankfurt want to renegotiate Kristensen deal

There's no way a club taking a player on a season long loan would be able contractually to terminate the loan a few of hours/days before the January transfer window closes as any option to terminate would have already expired earlier in the window.

A game there to be won but a point is better than non, burnley we're only interested in stopping united scoring,no intentions of committing to open play imagine watching that dross each week. To.say we had 9 men [Aaronsen and Piroe] and they had 12 with the.ref I thought we did well. The.fella next ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 28th January) Stalemate at Turf Moor

Really good point against a promotion rival that extended our lead at the top of the table and by returning to Yorkshire with our goal difference undamaged that's still worth an extra point over everyone in the division. On Piroe we know his level and it's definitely not in the PL so hopefully we ...

Re: Burnley, New Cure for Insomnia.

Having a solid defensive shape with pacy forwards to counter attack with is the best we could hope for initially. Trying to dominate, or have your fair share of possession whilst playing out from the back is a recipe for relegation for teams promoted to the PL. Of course Marcelo Bielsa and Chris ...

Re: Burnley v Leeds Utd Match Thread

A totally different era, Jammy. The game is much quicker nowadays, PL teams would have enough quality to break down that Burnley defence. Wouldn't necessarily disagree but promoted sided might be better trying different tactics as going up and trying to play the progressive football that's now in ...

+ Good round of fixtures for us this weekend as we extended our advantage over Sheff Utd when many expected the opposite.
+ Another comfortable clean sheet.
+ Gruev back fully fit.

- No negatives as it was a good performance and a great point.
