Roberts ? One of Orta's ?

I rest my case m'lud.
Yep. Seemed like a ' bargain' at the time - like a rug in a Turkish market sold ' for you sir at a special price. '

Yep nowt for a young footballer to get too excited about. As for knowing about LUFC I tnk I can hold my own. Anyhow let's get back to Orta.. Has BO I hear... There's Leeds city nightlife 10 miles one way, York nightlife 10 miles the othe way. Better than going out and being stabbed in London, but w...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 15th September) - Winger has played his last game for Leeds

Some of this makes it sound like there are all these talented players just queueing up to come to Leeds and Orta _ THE ba***rd that he is- is standing in their way and bringing in lesser players too. So time for my extreme counterpoint. :) :  Let's face it Leeds aren't exactly the most attra...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 15th September) - Winger has played his last game for Leeds

I agree. Every club will have sucesses and failures in the transfer market. JKA was a notable failure, but didn't look it at the time. On the whole Orta's done a more than adequate job. Let's not forget Dan James was a player Bielsa wanted. That he hasn't been able to make it in Jesse's system is n...

One Orta error after another in other words... What funds the club have had available have been decimated by his frequent blunders. That includes all his duff La Liga signings which were overpriced and came with extortionate player salaries. Rodrigo, Llorente and Firpo are costing the club about a m...

Re: What is the point in persevering with Victor Orta?

Perhaps this is the root of the problem, because our wage structure discourages, or rules out completely established (and proven) players, meaning we need to look abroad for development opportunities and that brings with it the risk of bringing in a significant proportion of duds. Until we are able...

Re: So now we have a worse squad?

How about offloading Llorente, Firpo and possibly Rodrigo in the January window ? Send some out on loan if need be. That would be a saving in wages of about 13.5m a year....With Rodrigo it would depend on what he does when he comes back - though we have seen brief purple patches from him before, fol...

Re: Brentford 5-2 Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

Bamford showed us a lot of what we've missed against Brentford and Everton. He holds up the ball really well. He's streets ahead of Rodrigo and Gelhardt in the No. 9. The goals will come. Maybe - but let's see. My jaw dropped when I saw his miss yesterday. Makes me think back to when people often s...

Re: Brentford 5-2 Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

I couldn't believe Bamford's miss when I watched it on MOTD. It's probably the biggest miss that I've seen a player in a LUFC shirt ever make - bettter defending than anything that Brentford's CBs managed all afternoon. Maybe Lllorente and Bamford should swop positions ? I think there's a dangerous ...

Re: Brentford v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

I understand we can't afford players in England, but we're looking in the wrong places. France is full of bargains and they produce the best CBs in the world. West Ham found Soucek and Coufal in the Czech leagues. Orta either goes after unrealistic targets or rejects from Spain's top clubs. 100% co...

Re: Positives & Negatives v Brentford (one of each please)

Positive.... Roca seems to be getting more influential with each game. Passing well and getting forward into scoring positions. Negative.....Defensive errors starting to rear their head again. I know several members disagreed with my assassment last season, but I have seen nothing to change my view...

Re: Brentford v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

Maybe people can see now why Llorente made 2 appearances in Real Madrid's 1st team between 2013-17..

Still dear old Victor thought he was worth forking out 18m GBP for...As long as it's a famous La Liga club then it must be worth the money.

Re: Brentford v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

Apart from a one season sticking plaster solution with White, our defence has been a shambles ever since Bielsa in his wisdom got rid of Pontus. And to think that we paid about 4 times as much for Llorente to take his place...
