Re: Today's Games

Nice to see Gnonto getting more international experience and he certainly doesn’t look out of place at that level.

Re: Today's Games

Italy not great but England worse. I think with just one competitive game to go before the start of the World Cup Gareth Wokegate has out stayed his welcome and, on the evidence of the last 5 games or so, we’ll be lucky to get out of the group games. Too late now to change Manager before the World C...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 12th September) AC Milan plot Sinisterra capture

It remains to be seen how good Gnonto is or could be. Will he get his first team chance this season? And if he does and impresses, where does that leave Gelhardt? Or Perkins, or Fernandez for that matter! If it’s true (a big if), hopefully we’ll see that we are in the driving seat with regard to Si...

Re: All 49ers Aren't We?

Absolutely no interest in American Football (or any American sport tbh, baseball, basketball etc). All talk of Bills, Giants, Raiders just goes straight over my head, they have never crossed my path or piqued the remotest interest in me. I only know the 49ers because of their connection with Leeds U...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 9th September) Premier League fixtures set to be postponed

I assume Galatasaray have offered bigger wages plus the Turkish league might be a little less strenuous and demanding for a 34 year old! Surely we ought to be able to see beyond Salzburg for new players. I’m sure they are a decent outfit but are plainly nowhere near the best of the best. A team at t...

Re: The Queen- RIP Your Majesty

It’s one of those world changing events that you think and hope is never going to happen although it is inevitable that it was going to happen at some time.

RIP Your Majesty.

Long live the King!

Re: The Queen.

It will be truly the end of an era when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passes and by the looks of things we may be facing that very sad time sooner rather then later.

Thank you ma’am for being such a hard working, conscientious, impressive and steadfast leader throughout my lifetime. I salute you!

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 8th September) - Did Leeds do enough this Summer?

I think the net spend graph for one transfer window is interesting but not necessarily pertinent regarding the relative overall strengths of the squads. Squad values are a more accurate measure and Leeds in 15th place rings true as to where we are in the scheme of things currently. I wouldn’t be at ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 7th September) PSV blame Orta for scuppering Gakpo deal

A city the size of Leeds should be able to at least fill 60k. Do they squeeze the extra capacity into Elland Road or find a new site? Should be able, but as I say, it depends on the relative success of the team on the field. A successful team competing for honours maybe, a perennially struggling Pr...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 7th September) PSV blame Orta for scuppering Gakpo deal

Not sure about selling out an 80000 seater stadium (especially now that we’re heading for a recession). I think we would need to be vying for top honours domestically and in Europe for us to be able to record 80000 crowds regularly and I think we are a very long way off that currently. But certainly...

Re: Jesse Marsch

For what it’s worth my take on Marsch’s touchline antics is one of support and quiet respect. It’s about time we had a Manager who was prepared to call out the inequities meted out to this club - effectively a 2 goal swing in the last match for example, and no team is going to overcome that sort of ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 6th September) - Llorente's days could be numbered

The Brentford penalty was anything but a “worthy spot-kick” a 50/50 subjective call at best. The referee called it - no need for VAR to overturn the ref’s subjective call with their own opposite but equally subjective call. That is not what VAR is there to do. Surely he must have realised that if he...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 5th September) Brentford smash five past Leeds

I don’t blame Jesse Marsch for showing his annoyance at the refereeing and VAR inconsistencies. As an outsider coming into the English game he’ll have had no idea about the establishment’s historical and continuing discrimination against this club and is clearly puzzled and becoming exasperated by t...

Re: Review of VAR announced by the Premier League

Interesting Paul. It’s a good idea to have a review and explanation of VAR incidents, especially the controversial ones. VARs should be accountable and their decisions open to scrutiny instead of being shrouded in secrecy. I think they’d struggle to explain away the two nonsensical VAR decisions tha...

Re: Review of VAR announced by the Premier League

Not much mention of the VAR controversy affecting Leeds yesterday, except for a brief, throwaway and unexplained footnote at the end I see, typical BBC that! It’s clear that the Video Assistant Referee did not know what his job was supposed to be. The Brentford penalty appeal was a typical 50/50 cha...

Re: Brentford 5-2 Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

Yes but it is the first offence they judge by. It should have been a freekick outside the box given by the ref on the pitch. If the ref had given a penalty it would have gone to VAR and should have been overturned and given as a free kick outside the box. The only way VAR should have intervened is ...

Re: Brentford 5-2 Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

Cold light of day and I’m still convinced we were screwed over by the pathetic officiating. “Video Assistant Referee” is there to “assist” referees, to correct obvious errors, but certainly not to spend 3 minutes browbeating them into changing their minds after they’ve made a perfectly legitimate, o...

Re: Jesse Marsch post Brentford

Jesse needs to calm down a bit. He's probably already got a bad reputation with the refereeing community. Unfortunately that comes automatically with being the Manager of Leeds United. As our Manager you are already on a hiding to nothing and if you to fight back in any way and try to call out the ...

Re: Rate the Ref as we are stung by the Bees

As poorer a performance as I’ve witnessed in a long time from the Officials. Linesmen, Referee and especially VAR. Linesmen should be watching out for foul throws- missed the one that led to the goal. Their penalty was a joke, if it takes VAR 3 minutes to decide then it’s hardly an obvious mistake ...
