Re: Liverpool v Leeds Utd Match Thread

Welcome back everyone!

Seems like only yesterday I was singing, we will be back at Burnedon Park all those years ago.

not at all nervous today, be more nervous when we play the likes of southampton, burnley, etc, teams that we need to beat to prosper.

Enjoy the game and enjoy the PL!

Not sure where we stand with JKA. Yes we are contracted to buy him, but what if we do not agree terms? what if JKA does not want to sign.....he surely cannot be made to sign.....so if he refuses to sign we surely do not have to pay his transfer fee.

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

while it is true that we need to keep Bielsa, it is equally true that Bielsa needs Leeds. he is regarded as a great manager, yet his achievements over the last 20 or 30 years as been modest to say the least. Surely all managers aspire to reach legendary status. In order to do that you take a team ge...

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season

I was excited when we signed Robbie Keane, but after that it all seemed to be out of control. I believed that if the club were spending the money, they must have it. Risdale was the one who knew what the books looked like. He made a huge mistake. it was a calculated risk to make Leeds worldbeaters....

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

Bielsa's done a great job getting us back into the prem at second attempt, and hopefully he renews his contract, however, While Bielsa is good at improving players, he does have his personal flaws, and flaws in a game. For both players and Bielsa, the Prem is a whole new ball game. The Championship...

Re: VAR for 2020/21

Only if it's used well which currently it isn't. so how would you use it? in a tight offside, linesmen are encouraged not to flag, if a goal is scored vat will check it.....suppose strikers boot is 2 inches offside, do u say, oh award a goal he is pretty much level......so what about 3 inch...or 4 ...

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season

Some of O'Leary's early signings were brilliant - Viduka, Bakke and Dacourt for example. Those 3 helped get us to a Champions League semi. It was later on when success went to Risdale's head that we started going crazy with poor and expensive signings - Fowler, Keane and Seth Johnson were all signi...

Somebody has to administer and maintain that list and enter the names precisely in the order in which they arrive. I don't think it's unreasonable. In fact, I thought it was going to be more. I think I'll buy a membership and get my name on the list on the off chance that, when I'm ready to retire,...

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season

IMO Bielsa doesn't really give youth that much of a chance - which is probably contrary to popular opinion. The last time we really soared at the highest level was because O'Leary had the guts to give young academy players such as Kewell, Smith, Woodgate, Harte, Kelly etc a chance. Bowyer had alrea...

We didn't have Bielsa in 64/65 though :bear: are you suggesting after 2 successful seasons bielsa is a better manager than the great don? the don produced a decade of success, i really hope bielsa can emulate that but but but until that time he dont hold a candle to don....do not forget, revie made...

Back in ;69 i was 11 years old and still in primary school. my neighbour was another 11 year old and tried to get me to support his team, manchester city....especially after they won the cup that year. our local sweetshop owner in bradford played amateur football and he used to take us to his games....

Re: VAR

I'd rather remove it from the game altogether (won't happen though). It's been brought in to ensure mistakes are missed and yet it must have a ratio of approx. 30/40 per cent of actually coming to the wrong conclusion. I remember a weekend recently where they admitted VAR got all three decisions wr...
