Good Morning. It's Thursday 15th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Leeds prepared to play hardball in Solomon negotiations

Leeds have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Israeli international Manor Solomon this summer, capitalising on Marseille's withdrawal from the race. Having witnessed Solomon's impactful loan spell firsthand, the 49ers Enterprises are eager to secure his services and bolster their attacking options. Spurs are keen to offload him, but are holding out for a £20 million transfer fee. However, with Marseille's initial interest cooling, Leeds stand alone as the concrete suitor, giving them a significant advantage in negotiations.

Leeds are reportedly only willing to offer £15 million. With no other clubs currently vying for his signature, they can afford to play hardball and potentially secure a bargain for the talented winger. For Tottenham, this presents a challenge. They initially acquired Solomon as a free agent from Shakhtar Donetsk two years ago. Unfortunately, a frustrating knee injury significantly hampered his progress, restricting him to just six senior appearances

Despite his injury setbacks at Tottenham, Solomon's loan spell at Elland Road demonstrated his resilience and determination. After a cautious start, he gradually overcame the effects of the injury that had threatened his career.

Whites make contact with Walker-Peters

Leeds United have made contact with Southampton and England wing-back Kyle Walker-Peters regarding a move to Elland Road this Summer. The 28yo is set to become a free agent, has garnered attention from various clubs both domestically and internationally. Given his established Premier League pedigree and experience with the England national team, the question arises: do Leeds realistically have a chance of landing him?

One of the key factors working in Walker-Peters' favour is his proven durability. With an impressive 148 Premier League appearances under his belt, he’s demonstrated a capacity to handle the physical demands of the league, a significant upgrade over current options like Sam Byram. His consistent availability would provide Leeds with much-needed stability in their defensive ranks.

Walker-Peters' versatility is another appealing aspect. Described as a "beautiful" footballer by former manager Russell Martin, he mirrors Byram's ability to operate effectively on either flank. With over 50 career appearances as a left-back, he offers tactical flexibility that would be invaluable to Leeds' manager.

Furthermore, he could provide healthy competition for Jayden Bogle at right-back. Despite playing for a struggling Southampton side this past season, his performances in the Championship showcased his quality and resilience. Introducing that level of competition can only elevate the overall performance of the squad.

On paper, Walker-Peters appears to be a well-suited and attainable target. Restrictions in Financial Fair play will limit Leeds spending this Summer, so picking up some reliable freebies will undoubtedly help their cash flow situation

Would be happy with Solomon, James, Gnonto and Harrison as wide options and probably sell Ramazani if possible.
I would much prefer to keep Ramazani and sell Harrison. I would also look to sell Gnonto, hope we could get £10m for him

I mean, how the feck is that even allowed to happen !!
Imagine us going to the supermarket and walking out with a trolley load ( I know it happens with some lowlifes) but then telling the cashier to pop it on our tab ?
Football economics is beyond me but the Spanish Giants have always operated with massive debts...

There is upside in Ramazani.

Jack is a busted flush with Leeds at this stage. Might be part of a trade with another club. Maybe Spurs would like him :)
If you look at Everton’s first team and squad situation it’s possibly worse than ours in terms of readiness - after loans go back and out of contract players they are very thin, no right wingers at all so I think they will offer for Harrison or maybe even chance their arm for James or Gnonto.
