Good Morning. It's Thursday 28th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road…
Leeds test PSV's resolve with £7m for left back
Social media lit up yesterday following claims (from media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb) that Leeds have submitted an €8m (£7m) bid for PSV Eindhoven's full-back Philipp Max. Although the bid may seem a little light, Sports journalist Shark Gutierrez announced last month that the Dutch outfit could be tempted to part with Max for as little as £5m.
The 28 year old is a very attack minded left wing back, similar in many ways to Rasmus Kristensen, and would certainly complement the way Jesse Marsch wants to play. He won three International Caps for Germany in 2020/21.
Leeds must concede defeat over CDK
Reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan may have finally reached an agreement with Club Brugge over 21 year old starlet Charles De Ketelaere. Victor Orta has gone toe to toe with the Serie A Champions all Summer, battling over the Belgium forward, but the lure of Champions League Football with an iconic Club steeped in history, has always had the edge over Leeds.
Milan's latest bid is worth £26.9m (€32m) with a further £2.5m (€3m) in add-ons, and a future sell-on fee. It has been suggested that De Ketelaere has turned down Leeds on multiple occasions, perhaps now, they will finally concede defeat, and move on to a different target, before De Ketelaere takes out a restraining order against the Whites!
Klich contemplating his ER future
Mateusz Klich is understood to be considering his future at Elland Road. The combative Pole, 32 has fallen down the pecking order since Jesse Marsch took the reins at Elland Road in early March. In the final twelve games of the season, he started just once. He also failed to make the starting line-up in any of Leeds three games down under recently.
He joined Leeds in the Summer of 2017, but failed to make an impact, until Marcelo Bielsa's arrival twelve months later. Under the Argentine's guidance, Klich played virtually 112 matches in a row (August 2018 and January 2021), missing just one game due to a hangover!
