Leeds favourites for Championship title this season

It is a little surprising that the bet365 betting markets have Leeds as short as 11/4 for the Championship title this season but this gives a firm indication of the clubs chances. Leeds start as the strong favourites for the title and will be disappointed if they are not able to gain automatic promotion to the Premier league come the end of the season. This sees them ahead of the likes of Fulham, West Brom and Cardiff in the betting.

Leeds kicked off their Championship campaign recently with an impressive victory away at Bristol City. Leeds now have a difficult run of fixtures and success could be key to them being promoted come the end of the season. This starts with welcoming Nottingham Forest to Elland Road on Saturday. This is followed by an EFL Cup fixture away at Salford just three days later.

Leeds will then travel to Wigan for their second away Championship fixture of the season. Wigan were impressive on the opening fixture of the season, so this is expected to be a tough test. Both games were very close between the two sides last season, with each side taking three points from the two fixtures. This included the 2-1 victory for Wigan in the latter stages of the season.

Leeds then travel to Brentford in a game they will be expected to win. Brentford were beaten on the opening game of the season, but were a side that caused Leeds a lot of problems last season. The game at Elland road last season finished 1-1, before Brentford took the home tie 2-0.
