There was a bloke from the UK getting interviewed and his kids were in floods
Because they had tickets for Notre dam.
My brood would be howling if I bought tickets for a church
Take them to euro Disney ffs

I heard on BBC radio that 1 billion dollars in donations from "private" sources has come in so far before any request for donations. That's a shocking amount of money. I don't remember ever hearing about such sums when there was a natural disaster that impacted people.

I'm sure if they had enough money, the Catholic church would pay for the restorations themselves. Its unfortunate that they will have to pay for it with donations from impoverished catholics from all over the world.

Sad but bound to happen sooner or ĺater. It's not the first time this cathedral has had a blaze, it's just the worst. In my oĺd hometown Seĺby Abbey had two restorations I believe, burned down to ashes at least once.

Nothing in this world lasts forever.

No such concern for the people of Grenfell.

Very good point. Terror, death, injury caused by bureaucrats and corporations is just too, too bad for the common people. When bureaucrats and corporations are involved, no money for victims until we know if they caused their death or injury. I looked it up and read about the theories of what they thought caused the fire -- I think they were authored by those who never woke up and heard the roar that a flame makes in a flat/apartment or realized the air was poisonous from burning furniture, rugs, etc and had to make a choice how to get out and live or die with the choice.
