Edited Player Of The Season (Vote On This Thread)

Post by Oscar » Fri Apr 08, 2016 10:34 pm

Vote For Your Player of the season,
Have made a new thread for this one as in hindsight it is a bit silly of me  to only give people three options to vote for, so I have included all players who have made over 25 appearances this season (Bridcutt and Berardi have played less than 25 been included as a) they were many peoples choices in the original thread b.) they will hopefully have played 25-30 games by May and c.) Bridcutt didn't arrive on loan until November and Berardi had 2 months out injured.
Only really 3 candidates in my opinion:
Gaetano Berardi
Liam Bridcutt
Charlie Taylor
Going to wait a few weeks before I vote.
The voting has started as well for the official player of the year (think you can vote on the Leeds United website) if anyone is interested .

Will leave the poll running until the 1st May, as there's still 7 games to go this season. You should be able to change your vote as well between now and May 1st, if necessary :-D.
If you voted on the previous thread, you will need to vote again on this one for your vote to count , sorry  but hopefully this thread is a better idea .

Charlie Taylor in my opinion just ahead of Liam Bridcutt. The only 2 players this season who I would say have had a good season this season.

Charlie Taylor because he's played the whole season.

Runners-up, 1. Berardi, 2. Silvestri, 3.Bridcutt, 4. Dallas, 5.Bellusci.

Bridcutt because without his battling qualities we'd have probably been nearer the relegation zone now than comfortably sitting in mid-table

Btw all Taylor has been distinctly average since returning from his glandular fever illness

Disagree mate, Charlie has managed 6 assists this season how many left backs can compete with that in this league? Over the season he has been our best player in an attacking sense creating so many chances consistently. I also think (apart from the odd poor game) he has been excellent defensively this season and has come up against some of the best wingers in this league and they have struggled to get past him even once in some games. Player Of The Season in my opinion. He has had the odd poor game since his return from illness, however, overall has more than done enough to be player of the season in my opinion.

Both full-backs Taylor & Berardi were poor today

Funny how so many fans around me today said the same thing about Charlie, remember these are fans who watch him home & away. Far too many crosses come into our box, a regular occurence over the season

Tbf not many came out with top marks even though we got a decent result in the end

Don't get me wrong Bridcutt has been fantastic as well, I have seen Charlie play 30+ times this season and he has had 2-3 poor games. However, defensively I still think he has been excellent, in some games I agree too many crosses come into our box but that isn't necessarily entirely Charlie's fault. To have 6 assists at left back (in an average team) is a superb return and he has won us games on his own (at MK Dons etc). At the start of the season in 90% of games Charlie was effectively playing in 2 positions left back and left wing as he appeared to be doing a lot more going forward than what Dallas was doing, so he has had to do a lot of running over the season. If you take this into consideration and the fact he had that illness as well it was almost inevitable he would lose some form and lose fitness but he hasn't which makes Charlie all the more impressive. Charlie has been as influential as ever going forward and has defensively has still been excellent (maybe at times not as convincing as he was at the start).
I think Charlie has been the victim of his own success because of his form from the start of the season.
For that reason Charlie Taylor gets my vote.

No votes for our captain or vice-captain and none for our keeper or strikers

Just goes to show the spine of our team is completely wrong :(

Only one for the guy voted best young player too, this may say more about us than the team.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Great point, Chris Wood is a good example hasn't won a man of the match vote on this forum all season despite having been our man of the match in at least 6-7 games this season in my opinion.
I was reading four four two last week and Wood was voted as the 28th best player in the championship this season. The vote was done by fans and fans weren't able to vote for their own players so it is obvious opposition fans must rate Chris Wood even if many of our fans don't appear to.

Berardi would have walked it had he not been taken out of the game three times, unfortunately he hasn't recovered his form after the horrible injury he suffered at Charlton
