Bielsa confirms Nketiah is going. "I am sorry for that. What we offered to him was maybe not what they expected." #lufc

Is that not MB saying that maybe Orta told Arsenal and Eddie a few porkies?

Wish the lad every success, the clip of him going out to the Leeds fans to say goodbye and the reception he got says a lot. I think we can all agree there is a quality player in there, but it just didn’t work out for him here. Bamford is quality and he couldn’t shift him, will he be able to lead the line for Arsenal in a season or two?

Needs to play in a team that plays 2 up front, he's not a lone striker.

You could see from today how much of a struggle it was against big physical defenders and every team has them, so it won't be easy at Bristol City.

No ill will towards him, he has said some nice things on social media (very respectful).

He did win us some points.

Was he value for money? Absolutely not but thats not his fault.

Would love to know what Orta told him and Arsenal because no way has it married up to how MB used him.

Dont blame Eddie at all and dont blame MB for how he used him.

Good luck to Eddie, if he has a mare against us but scores goals to take points off our rivals then all the better.

Eddie is a good player you can see that, he just dosnt suit us, not really placing the blame anywhere but if its cost us 3 million it's a huge waste. Might be a hard sell to get another striker in given they will be able to see that their prospects will be a 70+ minute sub or injury cover for bamford.

Sorry to see Eddie gone. However he did look a lot out of place today. As has already been said, I think he'll be a really good player in a system where he is not the lone striker.
Good luck to him for the future.

The trouble we had was that Eddie had never played any proper football before coming to us. All his appearances at were youth level so to come to us was a huge leap for him and fans need to take note of that, he hasn't played at league 1, league 2 etc but came straight to us and was presumably expected to start matches.

In the Summer Bristol City were desperate to sign Eddie, thought they had him.

Orta turned up with a laptop and boom.
No Eddie.

Bristol City stayed in contact with Eddie, Ian Wright was invited down to Bristol City to butter him up.

Eddie goes back to Arsenal.

Bristol City go back to chasing Eddie, begging practically.

Arsenal have Eddie listed as on loan at Bristol City (then quickly take it down).

A day or so later!!!!!!

BOOM!!!!!

Arsenal decide to keep Eddie for the season

Delighted he’s staying at Arsenal, it was written in the stars he’d score the winner against us if he went out on loan again, hope he gets more minutes at arsenal than he did here! :roflmao:
