Not a bad deal I think. Getting him free should mean we can go get a quality striker as well otherwise Leeds will have had to look at a lower level. 70% percent of any sell on fee is all profit which for me is good business.

They are a business too and have to comply with FFP too. Part of their business model involves buying players from all over the world and if they aren't good enough for their first team then sell them and make a big profit. The 30% clause means that both parties have a good deal, if he does well for us and we say sell him for £10m then City get a £3m return for whatever they have spent on him.

City owners have invested a great deal to get City where they are and they will want to get to a point where their income exceeds their outgoings. If they can snap up lots of talented youngsters for very little then ship them out for decent profit then it all adds up - and if 1 or 2 of them are good enough to break into their first team then even better for them.

Exited about poveda I have long said we need a saiz replacement, when he was playing well under Bielsa we were a completely different proposition attacking through the middle rather than solely relying on the flanks. Augustin if he can find his form would be an unbelievable signing, if he signs as well I'm confident we can win the league.

Then it's took Man city quite some time to comply just saying.
To have them Comply to FFP is something in itself I suppose ( I know sour Grapes I suppose) but they have been getting around do much have City.
But it's all good that someway somehow we've got this kid. WAY to go.!

Yeah but say we don't end up getting promoted, we'd only get a small fee for him and that'd be a bummer with the tight ffp rules.

When Saiz was on song we tore teams to shreds. If Poveda can do that too then we'll have a powerful weapon in our locker going forward.

With Poveda, Shack and Roberts (if he ever returns), we now have genuine pace through the middle, so we will stop being so predictable and going out wide.

Stevens is Clarke's replacement, Poveda is Saiz's. Get Augustin done and we're far stronger than this time last year.

For sure. Can't failt the club's efforts in getting Adams, even if it didn't work out. Augustin's worth a punt looking at his credentials and style of play.

Saiz never really the same after the spitting incident though plus did his best work with Roofe on the pitch and Klich free to play more forward IMO..

True enough, though he was enough of a known threat to draw enough attention from defenders to allow Klich to make those runs (that first game against Stoke being the perfect example). Definitely been an element of our game we've been missing though, I think that's safe to say.

Quite impressed with the lad's ambitious attitude, reading his words. He's done a bit of homework and knows he can be part of a big English football history playing for us. If he helps us into the Premier League his star stock will rise fast.

Impressive thing for this guy to say.

Worked in the recruitment area for Barcelona, Wolves, Fulham, Brentford and Arsenal.

Think its safe to say he has a decent eye for a player.

Defended Bielsa over Spygate (unlike Poch), praises him whenever he can.

Got to love Pep

Had kind of forgotten he existed (sorry Ian).

Do we think we may see him get a chance even from the bench now?

Was concerning we signed a player who wasnt even good enough in MB's eyes to be above Jordan Stevens in the pecking order (sorry Jordan but not close to 1st team level yet imo).

But now maybe he will get a chance?

Be nice if JKA and Ian can be used.

Teams know our team and style, having someone like Ian may be an advantage perhaps.

Thought Ian looked lively

Played one lovely ball in which nobody got on the end of and Cardiff had 2 left backs against him.

Costa and especially Harrison were dire, Ian was imo our best winger

Looks the best wide man we have obvious ability and picks out men with crosses, a gift we certainly haven't had. Good lad by the looks of him.
