Id heard of him yeah, was a wonderkid few years back when he was at PSG.

Knew he had gone to Leipzig after but didn't know how he had done till I googled.

Done a decent job at a higher level then Che Adams.

Depending on who you read everyone is after him.

This is getting really pathetic now.

No money
No real targets.

Our scouting network must be the worst.

we need to put in bids for all of the players that our rivals are going for... and then do a Dan James on them all and don't sign them but timing it just right so nobody else can sign them either.

I mean to say if we are having a horrible transfer window why should anyone else have successful one?

There are too many factors beyond our control to draw that conclusion imo.

We are going for proven strikers at the right level who are likely to adapt quickly to our system. There are not many players in that category, and the few that are are expensive and sought after.

To be critical of our efforts suggests that we ought to be finding undiscovered gems in the lower leagues, or abroad. Even if such players exist, they represent a far higher risk, given that we need them to hit the ground running.

As Bielsa has said, we thought we'd solved the second striker problem in the summer with Nketiah. That he chose to leave halfway through the season is not really Bielsa's fault either, given that Bielsa's priority is picking the best team on the day, not developing Arsenal's starlets.

It's easy to be wise after the event, but it seems to me that we are doing as much as we can to bring in the players Bielsa wants, given the limitations of circumstance.

Besides, anyone who doesn't want to play for Leeds is fundamentally deficient as a human being.

But Sara we chose to bring in Nketiah as a loanee , same as with the others.
And you can be sure that each of those clubs who we agreed deals with had expectations for their players -- Harrison did last year too.

So it was up to Bielsa to manage the situation that resulted from us in the loan ( the clue is in his job title) He opted to not do so because his system relies on the CF to act as a defensive midfielder.

Are replacements really that hard to identify? Someone to rival Bamford? Bamford, who is at best a run of the mill player in this league. That is why I lament our scouting "network" --

You need to take off the rose tinted glasses. Bielsa himself said that if the nketiah loan didn't work he would hold himself responsible. Well, he was responsible for not playing him and persisting with bamford even when he wasn't scoring. If he'd started him more often we wouldn't be in this mess having to pay £20m for strikers that haven't scored a goal for 8 months

1 more Premier League target on the radar, not sure who it is but MB wants the foreign option (unnamed)

Orta doesn't want to go foreign as he is on record doubting how quick they can adapt.
He is right, it takes about half a season at best

Disagree, that seems to be something Orta decided after wasting tons of money on dross when he arrived.

Plenty of clubs buy foreign players who adapt instantly.

Pukki, Buendia, Neves, Boly, Jansson, Benrahma, Mbeumo, Taarabt, Vydra, Knockhaert, Mooy, Costa tons more.

Orta generalising because of his own failures is a lazy excuse on his part.

If Orta cant find these players thats his fault but they do exist.

Some players adapt quicker some dont but the right players no matter where they are from are out there.

Victor's job is to find them whichever country they play in.

His insistence on domestic players says more about his own incompetence imo then it does foreign player generalisation.

Not rose tinted, I'm as frustrated with the situation as anybody. Just trying to provide a balance to the, 'we aren't getting what we want so the club/ manager/ scouts must be pants' brigade. It really isn't that simple.

Football Insider reporting that we're going to make one more try to get Adams in, this time for twenty million.

20 million, plus 1 % of any profits from part 2 of the documentary.

Must remember that whoever we are after we are likely to go in to the game vs Millwall (4th in the form table we are 20th) with only 1 striker still.

The club should have planned better imo, this isn't good enough.

Bamford gets an injury tomorrow and is out, then what happens?

I reckon we need to go down the free agent route.

All this January window is just a smoke screen. MB should have learnt his session after last season and had at least 2/3 who could put the ball in the net. Again playing the doctor role trying to save something dying. PB should have been sold and quality in. Absolutely crazy in this position again. Need someone who understands this league. Forget possession and put the ball in the frigging net!!!
