Cosmic Rough Riders 'Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine' :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

'A Jingly-Jangly, Byrds Like Songfest'

Cosmic Rough Riders could quite easily be the offspring of a 'night of passion under the stars at Woodstock' that any member of The Byrds had back in the 60's.

Other influences R.E.M,. Big Star, Beach Boys

Picked this beauty up for 50p originally released in 2000 because I liked the look of the sleeve. Honestly didn't expect too much, on listening I was knocked out by the quality of their songs, brilliant album

Some wonderful nominations on this little gem that will probably get hammered in the Mega-Song polls but who cares I love it

64 - I also picked this, for next to nothing, up a good few years ago for pretty much the same reason.

I too didn't expect much, and didn't get much - don't think I've ever played it since that first listen :)

Oh dear Cat

If it's not some rock tune from the 70's/80's nothing else matters between your ears ;-)

Bought this wonderful 2CD compilation for £2 off Music Magpie

Great car music over the last few days. Probably a dozen songs not in my collection including the OGWT theme tune. Surprised the whole 11 minutes of the wonderful Marquee Moon hadn't been edited as is usually the case on compilation albums

Stone Fox Chase (Old Grey Whistle Test Theme) - Area Code 615
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Can't Get Enough - Bad Company
Long Train Runnin' - Doobie Brothers
All Right Now - Free
Behind the Mask - Eric Clapton
Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac
Moondance - Van Morrison
Guitar Man - Bread
You've Got a Friend v James Taylor
It's So Easy - Linda Ronstadt
Chuck E's in Love v Rickie Lee Jones
May You Never - John Martyn
Mama Told Me Not To Come - Randy Newman
Jesus Was a Cross Maker - Judee Sill
I'm Blowin' - Bonnie Raitt
Black Rose - J.D. Souther
Dixie Chicken - Little Feat
Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
Life's Been Good - Joe Walsh
Samba Pa Ti - Santana
My Best Friend's Girl - The Cars
Marquee Moon - Television
Because The Night (BBC Live Version) - Patti Smith
All The Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople
I Don't Want To Talk About It - Crazy Horse
Free Ride - Edgar Winter Group
A Heart Needs A Home - Richard & Linda Thompson
Ooh La La - Faces
Big Log - Robert Plant
Bought & Sold - Rory Gallagher
Year Of The Cat (BBC Live Version) - Al Stewart
Mockingbird - Carly Simon & James Taylor
Love Hurts - Gram Parsons
Back Street Luv - Curved Air
I Saw the Light - Todd Rundgren
Tom Traubert's Blues (Four Sheets To The Wind In Copenhagen) - Tom Waits
Wonderous Stories - Yes

Having watched the Paul Rodgers (with Brian Johnson)/Free/Bad Co programmes that were on SkyArts last Fri or Sat a new CD copy of Free - Fire and Water arrived in the post today. Never had an original vinyl copy and had lost the CD copy I had years ago. Had forgotten how good Free (albeit relatively short lived) were until watching the programmes...……..and didn't realise that they were so young when they formed.

Free's excellent 3rd & biggest album

Brilliant band & a superb live act too!

Have every Free studio album plus the first three Bad Co albums

Free 'Live' is one of my favourite live sets of all-time. Andy Fraser's bass solo on 'Mr Big' is a gem

Still Corners - Strange Pleasures, just to remember a hint of summer
Banks - III, stunningly soulful

King Krule 'The Ooz' :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

A woozy, late night jazzy album which is a cross between Tom Waits, dub cuts bits of The Clash with the odd hip hop beat. Love Dum Surfer and some of the slow jams sound great on headphones 8-)
