I will disagree . We won't win it simply because we don't have a strong enough mentality . Leeds go to pot at the slightest bit of pressure and that in itself is enough . End of.

We have played 8 matches and completely dominated 7 of them (the only one we didn't totally dominate was Barnsley), likely racking up 100+ attempts at goal in those games and similarly probably have conceded a total of less than 10 shots on target against us in those 7 matches. It just needs something to click in the final third and we would romp the league. Pep Guardiola had similar problems but he had the likes of Messi (and others) at Barca, Robben, Ribiery etc at Bayern and Aguero, DeBruyne & others at City. We don't have that quality in the final third, we have championship players. Oh to have Dan James curling shots into the goal from the edge of the box but we don't have that.

We arguably have better attacking options on our bench but equally they lessen the whole structure of the team. It is a fine balancing act but hopefully as our players build up the understanding amongst each other things will fall into place. A lot of what we do is great. Even during the O'Leary days we didn't dominate matches in the same way we do now. Sooner or later some team is going to get absolutely thrashed by us and the thing is it doesn't matter who they are because they could be the 2nd best team in the division but we make every team look poor against us.

While today was frustrating, yet again, booing the players is not the answer. These players played some great football today, they absolutely snuffed out the opposition. Derby didn't have a touch in our box in the opening 60 minutes, we were relentless in possession and out of possession, Derby didn't have a clue. They could do nothing as we missed our chances, they could have been 6-0 down, they weren't even in the contest and the only thing that let them be in the contest was our finishing. I would much rather be a Leeds fan than a Derby fan, same as I would much rather be a Leeds fan than a Swansea fan after they beat us because they are teams going nowhere and even if one of them got promoted they would flounder in the premier league. We have a style and a swagger that means we can compete against the best and whilst at times results are frustrating we are definitely heading in the right direction and playing the right way.

If we only still had Chris Wood he'd have put the chances away this season.

Two lovely striker goals for Burnley yesterday, pulled off a defender for a easy header & a lovely close range strike. Wood is always in the six yard box poaching from a decent cross.

Wood have ten goals by now with the chances created so far!

Apart from our No.9 the problem is the rest of our team are guilty of missing chances too.

Harrison, Hernandez, Klich, Alioski, Shackleton, Cooper, Forshaw should all have goals or more on the scoresheet too!

I reckon we should have scored at least 15 goals more this season

A plank that was very effective in the 6 yard box though. He'd score a ton in this team.

Wood needed about 5 chances to score too.

Last striker we had that just seemed to score with every chance was Somma.

Agree that other players need to start scoring too. Midfield doesn't score anywhere near enough and I can't see Klich getting 10 again.

How many times have we hit the woodwork this season? It seems to be one a game.

Not sure but I've been hitting the bar more than I should. ;-)

A big strong centre-forward & a natural goalscorer 63, he'd have gobbled up loads of our missed chances playing in Bielsa's team

Never rated Wood as a footballer, not the kind of player I enjoy watching, slow, lumbering, runs like a girl, only gets 6 inches off the ground. He can scor 50 this season in the prem and I'll still not see a footballer, You can keep him.

Those above goals his first since April (has he been injured) so doesn't appear to be prolific. Nah sorry he's not getting on the end of our fast paced breaks, he's slower than Bamford. He can score goals but what an ugly footballer to watch.

If only we had eleven Kalvin Phillips
We'd never score a goal again.

Be more wounded fans in the stands after games then goals scored  :roflmao:

That's the one, he was our plank just as Bamford is our posh boy :)

Wood wasn't much cop in his first season but he certainly made is mark in the next

Remember Wood is playing in the premiership now plus all strikers go through lean periods, ours more than most unfortunately.

Wood was in the box for both his goals yesterday.

When Wolves & Bournemouth bashed the championship they use to break fast & have five or six players in the box, there were times v Barnsley & Derby Harrison was crossing to no one & we are suppose to be an attacking side!

You can wax lyrical all you like about Wood I'll always consider him a donkey of a player, unwatchable if you like beauty in the game. Personally I don;t think he'd get in a Bielsa team, we have Edmondson who as a footballer looks a much better payer to me and he doesn't make the match day squad ...yet

Eureka!!!

I have worked out how to stop conceding these sucker punch late goals!

Last season
Blunts
Derby

This season.
Forest
Swans
Derby.

At KO win the toss and play towards the kop in the FIRST half!

Sorted. 8-)

Does anyone have Kalvins mobile No? He could then speak to Cooper for me
