Sorry.
Re: Hot Hot Hot !
Thank you Sara
Lagavulin top notch malt. Islay at its finest. ( Our gessa is a bit of a malt expert as well )
I know you like being in the water or on the water so a few years ago we took our yacht over to Holland, across the North Sea. In the last port of call we got a rope fast around our prop which bent it. We couldn't sail home so had to be towed the 90 miles home ( including across the major shipping lanes) by friends of ours. When we eventually arrived back home (around 11.00 pm) and made the boats safe, everyone went to bed....except me and the other yachts skipper. We were so hyper.....he pulled out a bottle of Lagavulin and we both sat there, and just drank it all 'till the sun came up.
Re: Hot Hot Hot !
Sounds like happy days (apart from the bent prop).
I don't have a boat (I'm not that posh), but my friend has one up at Arisaig. After one night on the whisky in Derbyshire, we decided to drive up and stay on the boat. Unfortunately, it was that year (early 90s), when it was -30 over rannoch moor, and the diesel congealed in the Landy, so we broke down. When we eventually got to Arisaig, the boat was still under three foot of frozen snow, so we just booked into the Arisaig hotel and hit the whisky. One of the all time fun times, sitting by a roaring fire, place to ourselves, getting plastered for 24 hrs. Nothing to do with boats really... you had to be there!

Re: Hot Hot Hot !
Just re read your thread. We have a Landy.....series 5 I think. Mr Swan uses it for his tree surgery stuff. She's silver grey and called 'Gracie'....because she's Grey'see?....( I know).....
Re: Hot Hot Hot !
Off to fill my glass.....one last malt before bed.
Re: Hot Hot Hot !
My Landy was a series 2A, I think, early 70s. Everything fell off it. Only ever did one long journey; top speed 45mph, and you got out the other end feeling like you'd had an ill advised night of passion with the tin man. The friend with the boat had an ex council 110, bright orange, so at least it was easy to spot for the rescue service!
Sailing does sound fun! I'd probably turn piratical and go on the rum!
