The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 3rd May)
Good Morning Everyone
As expected Patrick Bamford has been handed a two game ban for "successful deception of a match official" by the FA. He will therefore miss Saturdays finale at Portman Road and the first leg of the play off.
If he was successful, why is he receiving a ban?
The Leeds Utd PR machine made the following statement:-
"Whilst Patrick Bamford did not deny a charge of successful deception of a match official following our Sky Bet Championship game against Aston Villa on Sunday, the club did request a hearing to contest the penalty imposed on the player.
"The club felt that given the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the extraordinary act of sportsmanship which saw our head coach Marcelo Bielsa demand our team to allow Aston Villa to score an uncontested equaliser, we could have a sensible discussion around the sanction.
"We acknowledge that the FA panel did not feel that to be reasonable and the club therefore joins Patrick in accepting the two match ban."
How important is it that Bielsa stays at ER next season?
If he were to leave, who should replace him?
If you could pick two Leeds players from the last 25 years to step forward in time (as a 27yo) and play the remaining fixtures, who would they be.
I'm going for Radebe and Viduka.

It's more important to keep Bielsa than any player. He has to stay and finish the job, regardless of what division we're in.

Absolute essential
If he were to leave, who should replace him?
Irreplaceable at this level

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 3rd May)
Morning all.
Despite that animal Hourihane getting off scot free, I think with Roofe looking fitter and weller than expected we shouldn't worry too much about Bamford. Show's over, move on.
Replacement for Bielsa? No one even close to his calibre would come to the Championship. There was a joke going around when Wenger said those lovely words about Bielsa that we should go for the former if the latter leaves. Given his issues with budgets while at Arsenal (and Emery's not really improved their overall position - it was the dressing room all along, not Wenger), I reckon he'd do okay Up North.
Really could've done with Billy Bremner's stamina, motivation, leadership qualities and sheer courage this Easter...
And definitely Radebe. He'd have eaten these Championship players for breakfast.

Bielsa must stay.
Who realistically could we replace him with? Who would want it is a better Q.
Micheal O’Neill knows how to get the best out of average players...
Two players.
Tony Dorigio
Alan Smith.

Morning EB1 and Everyone,
We all knew the ban for Bamford was coming, so we just have to get on with it now.
I still find it hard to believe that he did it with all the cameras at football matches these days. The mind of a modern day professional footballer I guess?
The question should have been asked at the FA why wasn't Connor Hourihane handed retrospective punishment as he basically incited the whole melee.
We must keep Bielsa for next season whichever league we are in.
Even if we don't go up this time around I'm confident we will next season with the emergence of the U23 squad we currently have.
I've no idea who we could replace him with if he left. It doesn't bare thinking about.
Viduka and Woodgate for me.
Chilli

G'Mornin.
Its vital Bielsa stays, if we dont go up and Bielsa leaves i think we will fall away for some time.
If he does go i think we should be ambitious, therefore we should go for Marcelo Gallardo.
A Bielsa student who rebuilt Argentina's biggest club under difficult circumstances.
Hmm.
Harry Kewell (pre injuries) and Jimmy Hasselbaink.

Absolutely vital that Bielsa stays and i think he will.
If he does go, i am going to go left field and say promote from within and bring through Carlos Corberan. He has been working closely with Marcelo this season. Has a great understanding of our youth set up (one of our biggest strengths) and i do wonder whether he is being groomed as a successor.
If i could bring back two players from last 25 years, Radebe and Viduka hands down.
