Leeds Utd v Swansea City Match Thread
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhLeeds Utd v Swansea City

Swansea make the 270 mile trip North to Elland Road on Wednesday evening hoping to keep their play off hopes alive following a gritty performance to see off Millwall last weekend.
The Swans currently sit 11th in the Championship on 44 points, 6 points behind Bristol City and Derby!
Daniel James played for the first time for the Swans since his failed transfer to Elland Road, and it seems the 21yo hadn't lost any of his spark!
Will Potter play James against Leeds?
Will James want to play?
Two other ex Leeds players who both endured torrid times at Elland Road should both feature against the Whites.
Matt Grimes, and in particular Oli McBurnie would both love to rub salt into the wound!
Leeds will be without Jack Clarke. The 18yo has been told to rest for a week following breathing problems during the latter stages of the Boro game on Saturday which saw the youngster stretchered off, and taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Adam Forshaw has recovered from a knock and Barry Douglas has been declared fit following a muscular injury that has seen the highly rated left back sidelined since the beginning of January.
Let's hope the rest has done him good. If ever we needed players to rediscover their form from earlier in the season - it's now!

Re: Leeds Utd v Swansea City Match Thread
My first Leeds v Swansea match was a tricky FA Cup 3rd Round tie in 1970
Leeds United: Sprake, Reaney, Cooper, Bremner, Charlton, Hunter; Lorimer, Clarke, Jones, Giles, Madeley. Unused Sub: Yorath.
Swansea Town: Millington, Lawrence, Gomersall. Slee, Nurse, Thomas. L. Allchurch Screen, H. Williams, Gwyther, B. Evans. Unused Sub: Rosser
Leeds were struggling 1-0 down into the 2nd half when Allan Clarke niggled or said something to Swansea's big centre-half Mel Nurse who promptly flattened Clarke in the box & was sent off, Giles scored the penalty & with the Swans down to ten men Mick Jones sealed their fate with a winner in the last ten minutes
A lucky escape for Leeds

That's not a bad team
Oh how things have changed (yes this is a when I were young post _
Gone are the days when club's fielded their strongest line-ups in the early rounds of the FA Cup
And only one sub!!!! How did the managers and players cope with such a hardship?

Re: Leeds Utd v Swansea City Match Thread
Hi guys,
I read that bielsa has named his team for tomorrow, only change from Boro is Clarke replaced by Hernandez.
I don't understand why Ayling and Harrison are keeping their places in the side?
Both awful v Boro, apart from that amzing piece of defending by Harrison. Admittedly due to streams dropping I saw parts of the first half and all of the second half.
We have other options available.
I agree that this is a must win game, and probably all remaining home ties.

Think it was Harrisons cross for the Pontus onto the post header we should have scored from too

Forest 1-0 up against WBA
Re: Leeds Utd v Swansea City Match Thread
Bielsa on Forshaw, Brown, Ayling, Berardi, Dallas & Douglas
Forshaw won't be ready for tomorrow's game. The only change will be Hernandez in for Clarke. "The situation with Adam didn't evolve as we thought it would so he won't be in the group tomorrow
On Forshaw's injury: "We think it's not that serious. We hope he'll be available in about 10 days."
Izzy Brown will be in the squad tomorrow, having featured for the U23s today.
A big vote of confidence from Bielsa for Luke Ayling. Says he thinks he's dropped off slightly in an attacking sense but is still very happy with his performances and feels he's more than worth his place in the team
Berardi and Dallas will be used in the next two U23s game and then considered for the first team if they come through those. Barry Douglas should be back sooner than that (but isn't fit for tomorrow

Any news on McBurney at all? He was a right pain for the defenders last time out.
On the good side though. Swansea havent won at ER since 1949!

McBurnie is definitely in Leeds.
Posted a picture of Dan James in a hotel room today.
Least it could mean that

Re: Leeds Utd v Swansea City Match Thread
A tough game against a team who can break in the counter attack, our wing backs and Phillips will have to be switched on to the defensive side so we don’t get opened up. The longer our poor run continues the more anxiety that creeps into the players heads, massive game. I’m confident we have a good team that will get 3 points, 3-1

The more pertinent question is how many minutes before kick do the EFL announce a points deduction for Spygate?
