The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 11th Jan)

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning Everyone

Derby boss Frank Lampard was forced to halt training yesterday amid ‘spying’ concerns.

The police were called to Derby's training ground after reports of a man on the perimeter of the training pitch, appearing to spy on the team’s final session before the Leeds game.

The suspect was in possession of a pair of binoculars, pliers and a change of clothes.

Sounds perfectly normal to me!

The man was taken away for questioning...

The quest to bring a new keeper to Elland Road is reaching its finale.

The rumour doing the rounds is that a shot stopper will arrive at Thorp Arch early next week to undertake a medical.

Will there be a buy on clause?

Apparently that will depend on whether we get promoted or not!!!

Why has the search for a keeper taken so long?

Blackman broke his leg back in November, and here we are, almost half way through January!!!

A host of Premiership scouts will be at Elland Road tonight with all eyes fixated on Jack Clarke.

The 18yo sensation has been subject to much speculation over the last few days.

If Leeds were offered 15m today for Clarje, and the money could be immediately reinvested into the squad, would you accept?

I very much doubt the 'spy' came from Leeds Utd.

Bielsa plays the same tactics week in week out, and also reveals his starting line ups days in advance.

Anyway, if it was down to Leeds, we would have bought at least 5000, not just one!!!

It was rumoured that the pliers he had were to snip off Frank Lampard's balls

Just to piss all the PL snipers off..don't play Clarky tonight.Leeds need to keep hold of him otherwise we have absolutely no impact players off the bench at all. Keep him on the bench for as long as possible.

Sounds more likely he was casing the joint and looking to nip trough the fence and get into the changing room to steal from the players. No reason why a 'spy' would need pliers or a change of clothes.

Why has the search for a keeper taken so long?

Circumstances to who is available can change quickly. We may have had a deal almost concluded only for it to fall through very late on.

Not in this transfer window as would be extremely hard to bring in players of his quality that were match fit and willing to play in the championship. It may be a case that if we failed to get promoted and needed the money to strengthen the squad (like Vieira for Bamford) that a sale would be a good idea.

If that's the case Leeds need to slap 20 mil on him as a starting bid. In order to strengthen better players need bringing in not selling off the best players to fund them. We have the nucleus of a team who could probably just survive the first season in PL and talent like Clarke needs to be looked after and rewarded with a new contract and a show of ambition from AR in the transfer market to back it up. If he hasn't got the funds to bring in a couple of quality players to get promotion then he sure as hell won't have the funds in the summer so he should sell up to someone who has to get this sleeping giant moving before it becomes an impossible task.

Morning EB1and Everyone,

Laughable to think that the person spying of Derby's training session is a Leeds scout.
Most people could probably guess what team FL will put out within one or two players anyway.
Much more likely it was a 'tealeaf' hoping to get into the changing rooms and steal their valuables.

Sincerely hope this keeper who is apparently on his way to us is a good one with top flight credentials.
Lots of speculation who it might be, we will see. Fraser Forster please AR.

Under no circumstances should Jack Clarke be sold unless a club offered ridiculous money (and I'm talking about 30m+ here)
What would be the point of developing all our young talent through the academy and U23's just to sell when they are on the verge of the first team at Leeds?
I'm almost hoping he's ineffective tonight if he plays so it puts people off.
The flowers of common sense do not grow in everyone's garden

Derby have made a complaint to the Football League over the "spying row" with Leeds United.

Mirror Sport revealed on Thursday that police were called to the Derby training ground and Frank Lampard even had to stop the session while a suspect was detained.

And it is believed that police have traced the suspect's car back to being owned by Leeds United, although police will not confirm details as no arrests were made.

But the row has blown up ahead of Friday night's Championship promotion showdown at Elland Road.

Derby are going public to try and out Leeds United who have made no comment about the row.
