Favourite Xmas Song Poll

Post by Muppet the Cat »

Given that we're a week into December time to nominate your favourite Christmas song.

Need 16 ongs really and given that 13 (64, Mrs64, 1304, Bally, faaip, John, Ges, Gandi, BB, Norfolk, Azkal, Hector and myself) of us normally take part in 64's Decades Favourite Song Poll that allows for a pick each and room for 3 new players.

To start off a couple of early doors picks have been made:
64: The Pogues (feat. Kirsty McColl) - Fairytale of New York
Bally: Greg Lake - I Believe in Father Christmas

Picks pronto now ( :bear: !!) this for Xmas 2018, not 2019 :)

Edited: as initially I thought 2 songs each, but on reflection it’s one each, so choose carefully :)

Ho Ho Ho :moggy:

You’ve nominated my two faves but I’ll post a couple more up later on, love a good Xmas song even though I’m pretty Bah Humbug on the whole.

I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Christmas music is, in the main, saccharine sh*te that I detest. Given that the Pogues have already been chosen, I'll go with a track off the only Xmas album I can listen to, Phil Spector's A Christmas gift to You:

Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

faaip - I was anticipating an out-of-leftfield one that I'd never heard of and certainly a track that never got near to making the cut for 'The Best Xmas Album in the World - Ever (re-packaged issue vol.20)'
Just pick the one you dislike the least :)

Ditto, plus I'm not a fan of the Pogues ...

I'll go - 'Just Like Christmas' - Low

Can't abide Christmas songs normally, and the only "modern" one that I can suffer is Greg lake, which has already gone, so I'll go with the end song from one of my favourite "Chrismas" films.

Vaughan Monroe - Let It Snow
Delapsus Resurgam - When I fall I shall rise!

If you love Christmas songs like I do try listening to the Florin Street band My favourite time of year filmed here at bliss Hill in Shropshire I'm still surprised it hasn't been a hit

I'll go - 'Just Like Christmas' - Low
I like that track. As a fellow grinch, can I recommend some alternative Christmas music, Glasvegas - A Snowflake Fell (And it felt like a Kiss) EP. Xmas with a bottle of cheap wine and a flick knife!
