On Fire The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 6th Dec)

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning Everyone

There is bad news onthe keeper front.

Newcastle Utd have told Leeds that they cannot consider letting Freddie Woodman out on loan due Karl Darlow being injured.

Meanwhile Bielsa has shelved plans to sign Burnley keeper Tom Heaton.

Where should Leeds look next?

According the the YEP, clubs who have accumulated 2 points per game at this stage of the season have a 80 per cent strike rate in reaching the Premier League. Moreover, they have a near-perfect record of making the play-offs.

Leeds of course are on 39 points after 20 games.

Leeds have agreed to extend Mallik Wilks' loan spell at Doncaster Rovers.

The 19-year-old's time at the League One is due to come to an end in the New Years but Rovers boss Grant McCann says an agreement is in place to renew the deal - and that Wilks is set to be offered a new contract at Elland Road.

Morning all.

Villa unfortunately are after Heaton and we won't be able to compete with them on the wages front, so makes sense looking elsewhere. I've never heard of Woodman, so not bothered. I don't want someone less experienced than BPF anyway.

There's many out of favour GKs in the PL, Fraser Forster or Angus Gunn would be decent loans. Danny Ward who was at the dog botherers when they went up is not playing either.

Good morning Matt & all

Makes sense not to persue a target if we have no chance of signing him

How often has that happened in the past ?

The funny thing is whilst we are all keen on a "decent keeper" BPF's stats still stand up very well!
could we forgive the odd flap and bad distribution if he saves everything going in and a penalty?
only 5 hours or so since a Leeds keeper last picked the ball out of the net
My my my, such a lot of guns around town and so few brains

I don't disagree with this, but I do think BPF needs competition (and that's no disrespect to the young lads waiting in the wings), if only to keep him honest and working hard to improve
