The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 11 June)

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning Everyone

Reports from the media over the weekend suggest Leeds are still in advanced talks with Marcelo Bielsa.

The 62 year old is said to be considering Leeds offer very carefully.

Leeds have an extremely big 48 hours ahead of them.

Whilst Leeds continue to negotiate with Abel Hernandez about putting together a potential deal, they are believed to be carefully monitoring Matej Vydra. Derby have made it clear that they will be willing to sell their prized asset if the price was right (believed to be 10m).

Deby signed the now 26yo from Watford during ther Summer of 2016, and has scored 26 times in 73 appearances for the Rams. He also received the Sky Bet Championship Golden Boot after scoring 21 goals in the competition during the 17/18 season.

The word is talks were underway about an 8m transfer with Tom Pearce going the other way.

Thoughts?

Wolves are believed to be interested in signing Bailey Peacock-Farrell with a figure of 4m being touted about.

Bailey is still very young, and many are not sure whether he is ready to retain the number 1 jersey throughout the season!

Do Leeds need a more experienced keeper?

Is 4m too good to turn down?

Pick a player

Ian Harte or Tony Dorigo

Nick Barmby or Michael Bridges

Coincidence that Hernandez put a picture up last night at the same place bielsa was giving his talk?

To add to the chat - I saw a rumour that Reading have bid 7 mill for Roofe.

4 mil is too good to turn down if you think he's a back up next season. Too cheap for me as our number 1.

Pearce and Roofe leaving wouldn't make me that happy. Even if we did get a good striker in return. (I'd want 25 goals guaranteed)

Someone who’s been fairly consistent with their ITK news I follow on twitter suggested that there’s going to be a lot of ruthless buying and selling this summer and it’s not going to please some fans. Could be total rubbish but I’m half expecting a big name to be leaving (my personal view is saiz)

I really hope not, that happened last summer and we got a bad season from it

Hi EB

I can't see us selling Pearce after just resigning him.

Unlikely for us to sell BKF either

Dorigo and Bridges
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Evening Harry, many people think we re-signed Pearce, just so we could sell him for more money, BUT 2m far too cheap in todays market for an England u21 player.

Agreed that 2 mil is too cheap, I hope that that is not the case.

Bring him back to ER, one year contact...

Villa need the money, and will want to offload him.

He's scoring a goal a game at Melborne City - the standard there is not that bad...

Good morning Matt

So much speculation all websites/paper talk, I believe the majority of it is untrue ! Last season we were linked with so many players, no one predicted correctly the players we signed last summer

Yes we do need an experienced keeper as back-up to Peacock-Farrell

Dorigo & Bridges for me

Saw Bridges score one of the best hat-tricks I've seen down at your place the old Dell on a Tuesday night I recall

Morning all,

I would be tempted to sell BPF at 4m but not Pearce. There is a lot of offloading to be done this summer. The squad needs to be reduced not increased. Reduced but with the right set of players.
Wasting my breath on that i feel though.

Harte and Bridges for me
My my my, such a lot of guns around town and so few brains

Not for me thanks, too selfish. Was really glad we got rid originally.

Morning Leon, so do you see Peacock Farrell as number 1 keeper next season?

Blimey, all the way down to the Dell for a midweek game. That shows commitment....

Afternoon Dalton.

I reckon Harte's set pieces were better, and I only recall he missed one pen (against scum). Correct me if I'm wrong...

Yes, we have a lot of offloading to do....
