Berardi/Vieira

Post by 1964white »

Don't wish to appear pedantic folks but when are we going to spell our players names correctly

Several have misspelled Berardi & Vieira since they first played for Leeds

Beradi often seems to lose an 'R' & is spelt BERARDI

Viera often seems to lose an 'I' & is spelt VIEIRA

Happens so often I keep googling their names to see if I've got them wrong myself :chair:

I'll probably stick to the wrong spelling ...easier in a hurry

I always spell them correctly but we all know the players we're talking about so it's not a big deal for me.

I've ignored this next item so far because it's not my place to be an English monitor, but maybe when you start using 'who' and 'whom' correctly I suppose you could criticise others?

Talking about pedantic. When you are wanting to use the word "worse", as in "We are worse than Arsenal", you always put worst instead of worse. Does my conkers #pedantoff.

I've already admitted my English grammar & spelling are not great. Maths was always my strong subject at school

GW was always pedantic instantly correcting incorrect spelling bless him but no one had a pop at him, mind you he is a very intelligent man so you do have a point :)

Not getting personal with anyone in particular, it's just a Leeds thing for me. I don't need reminding as I do realise my shortcoming with the English language

Throughout Wood's career at Leeds, Thom Kirwin (on LUTV) used to call him Woods, it drove me crazy.

Me too Harry, I found myself yelling at him "it's Chris WOOD for goodness sake!". Why didn't anyone at LUTV ever tell him he got it wrong.....every time! :x
