Re: Blunts v Leeds - What starting line-up does Heck go with?

Post by rab_rant »

I am going for a team of just four
Liberace in Goal... that would just be dazzling darling
Stephen Fry in defence... such an intelligent player sure to win every headed ball into the box
Elton John in midfield... past his best, but you have to give credit to anyone who wears platform football boots
Freddy Mercury up front... for that extra bite in attack, Freddy has an overbite that Luis Suárez would kill for.

By fielding this team the Leeds fans would be stunned into silence, and the opposition players
would be so dumbfounded they would be rooted to the spot in disbelief. And the great thing
about this team would be that they would not get any red cards. A couple of them might need to
be exhumed from the grave, but even then, that would be a great improvement on many members
of the present squad.

What we need is panache and a wild sense of style and this team selection fits the bill perfectly

You could play Pablo on the wing but I'd play Saiz with Pablo on the bench.

Sheffield United haven't lost at home to Leeds since April 1992,
winning five and drawing two in all competitions since then.

Leeds haven't beaten Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in a second tier
fixture since September 1949 with Len Browning scoring the winner in a 1-0 win.

The Blades are unbeaten in their last 17 Yorkshire derbies (W11 D6)
since losing 1-0 to Barnsley in November 2014.

Leeds have failed to win any of their opening six matches in all competitions
in 2018 (D2 L4), their longest winless run at the start of a calendar year since 2004 (also six without a win).

Billy Sharp has scored five goals in his last five league starts against Leeds,
including scoring in the reverse fixture this season.

This will be Paul Heckingbottom's first league match in charge of Leeds -
he has faced Sheffield United twice previously, both times at Bramall Lane as Barnsley boss, and is yet to win (D1 L1).

Evens for the Blades to Win. 4/1 fpr Leeds United to win
Does not look good. More pain and anguish.

All 4 signed up this week as being free agents they weren't affected by the transfer window closing - unfortunately, as has been the way this season, they have all picked up minor knocks in training and none will feature today.

quite like that line up - vieira and hernandez needed to be dropped (or at least rested) after recent performances

is dallas at rb then? glad to see him get a start - deserved imo, always gives his all and is a solid 6/7 out of 10 every game

No defenders on the bench at all?

And hopeless O'Kane is back and captain.

Glad to see Ekuban back.

We are a truly mediocre team at best....you wonder when the players have to start taking the blame for this shambles....and not only the manager ???
