I think I’m down to SHG from my nominations, thought that one might go first if I’m honest, been like a little bit of me has died every time one has gone out1964white wrote:Lots of my favourites gone too mate

Think Roads will probably be my only Q Finalist, biggest surprise is the seminal American band beating the seminal British one ...Pixies over Joy Division

Tbf liggy Because The Night is losing out to one of the great pop songs in Lola.liggy wrote:Well it looks like I'm going to loose Pattie Smith

Can't believe only three of our players voted for Slade's 'Coz I Love You', another cracking pop song
And as for one of the greatest songs never to make the charts in the 60's The Days Of Pearly Spencer, well I despair
Also songs from Radiohead, Smiths, Nick Cave, Fugees losing out to artists who hardly get a mention on our music threads is a massive disappointment for me but there you go an element of surprise !
After saying all that I enjoy the majority of the 80 songs in this round which made for some really tough decisions with my voting, maybe a couple I'm not keen on. So many wonderful songs that makes for a great competition

I'm sure Marc Almond did a cover version that charted.1964white wrote:I get the feeling several didn't even listen to it liggy, great song from the relatively unknown Irishman

Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll - Round 3. VOTE NOW
I love both Rappers Delight & the majestic Lets Get It On song from one of the greatest soul albums ever. In the end Mrs 64 & I were clear on our choice so the Sugarhill Gang beauty was the one to miss out, lets face it there is a distinct lack of great soul songs in this pollNorfolkWhite wrote:Boooo.......
We were clear on the others although 'Forest' v 'How Soon Is Now' was a very close call for me
We couldn't have two Smiths songs exiting the poll after one of the great songs of all-time surprisingly took a pounding

Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll - Quarter-Finals Draw Later
I'd be 0 for 4 on those selections so all the wrong ones for me
