He's not one to shun a challenge then...
This will be a tough one to spin until he's proved himself.

Re: New Head Coach LUFC
Looks like Hockaday's in the mix and is likely to be confirmed tomorrow if Twitterland is anything to go by...
So a proven coach/manager then!
Just read Wikipedia (as we know this is the font of all knowledge in internet world) - sounds like he's used to mid-table finishes and relegation battles...
''His first season as manager ended with relegation from the Conference Premier.[15] However, Forest Green were reinstated following Salisbury City's failure in their appeal against demotion from the Conference for financial irregularities. Despite the team finishing in a relegation position and coming under fire from a number of the clubs fans, Hockaday was offered a new one-year contract for the 2010–11 season.[16] In his second season as Forest Green boss the team narrowly avoided relegation to the Conference South the team lost their final day fixture, a 2–1 loss away at Tamworth, but stayed in the league on goal difference.[17]
In his third season as Forest Green manager the club finished the season in 10th place. His fourth season as manager of the club again ended with another 10th place finish in the Conference Premier. In February 2013, Hockaday dismissed rumours linking him with the vacant managerial post at former club Swindon Town after the departure of Paolo Di Canio.[18]
After a disappointing start to the 2013-14 season which saw Forest Green lose seven out of eight games, Hockaday left Forest Green by mutual consent on 21 October 2013.[19] In May 2014, Hockaday was linked with the vacant head coach position at Leeds United following a number of bets being placed on him.[20]'

Re: New Head Coach LUFC
Why the surprise Si? It's what he has always done in Italy - hire a no-name and fire him after 6 months
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

Re: New Head Coach LUFC
My thoughts exactly! Hockaday's a failed Conference manager, ffs! I thought Cellino might just be mad enough to do something with our club; if this is true, then it seems he's just certifiable. A bad jokeArmleywhite wrote:Surely this is a fukcing windup? What's sort of ambition is that ffs. Frying pan and fire spring to mind here.

to be fair...so was BMC...failed at Woking and Slough, and he was welcomed here with open arms.

Re: New Head Coach LUFC
Why not give him a go? He's there to coach the players, get them fit etc. Might be a breath of fresh air for the club Why the huge surprise and gasps of shock lol? Cellino said from the off he wanted to "pilot the plane"
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.
Re: New Head Coach LUFC
Even if we had the special one as coach it wouldn't make a difference because Massimo is pulling the strings so it may as well be Hockaday.
