Brighton v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings....

Post by 1964white »

Surely if McDermott intends to play with two wingers he has to start Smith upfront with McCormack. Come on Brian wake up & smell the coffee !
Time to take the game to the opposition early doors rather than waste the first 45 minutes & then end up chasing the game yet again

Who do you sacrifice, Murphy, Mowatt or Austin?

I don't mind playing with two winders and Ross alone up front as long as either Stewart or Kebe get in the box with him.

I'd seriously look at dropping Mowatt and sending him out on loan.
Agree with Leon here - Matthieu should start and we use the flanks to serve him. Ross will pick up on the knock downs, if nothing else.

Has to be Mowatt on the bench even though I don't rate Austin

With the players we have, we won't win many for the rest of the season - especially the spate of away games now.

Winnable game this one no bridcutt in the middle for them I'd be tempted to go 442 with brown alongside Murphy smith up top

Wouldnt surprise me to see Brown back for this one in midfield to replace Mowatt from Saturdays starting line up.

I cant see Smith starting personally as I think BMD will want to keep things tight initially.

I'd start the same formation as Saturday, possibly benching Mowatt and bringing in Brown as the deeper CM. Alex hasn't looked at the races for a few games (though it was difficult for any of our midfield to have an impact in the first half of the game on Saturday).

Smith gives us a good option off the bench if things haven't been working in the first half.

Glad Smith is back, really gives BMD some options up front.

Regardless of whether Smith is in the starting line-up several of our players will insist on hoofing (Pearce, Lees, Warnock, Austin) so the only sensible thing to do is start with the big man up front.

Players should be up for it tonight. Let's make it 10 from a possible 12 and keep this undefeated streak rolling!

I would go 4411

Smith up front alone and give RmC licence to drop deeper or go upfront to upset the defensive marking.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

So apparently Cellino isn't going to be there tonight, despite saying he would be...

Not a major surprise really, nothing he has said so far has turned out to be true. He hadn't bought Leeds when he said he had, he fired Brian but blamed GFH, he hadn't sold Cagliari when he said he had.

Still, never mind, we will own Elland Road again in 48 hours.
Bates, GFH, Cellino: Same s**t, different arseholes.

I've just read that the club are splitting his 93 day loan in two, so that once he starts the second part of his loan, he will be with us to the end of the season. I think we then have an option to buy him.
