Leeds United v Blackburn - Team/Reports/Ratings

Post by 1964white »

Time for McDermott to make a couple of changes  wake up to the fact why our midfield is not functioning & the ball is also by-passing the the middle of the park Brian, time to make a major ruthless decision

Austin & Lees are the problem !

Kenny

Peltier Wootton Zaliukas Pearce Pugh

Murphy Brown Mowatt

McCormack Smith

I've seen 2 telly games and 1 live and I've been unimpressed with LEES PELTIER AUSTIN AND SMITH. With regards to smith I believe and it did happen against Watford if you cross the ball from the byline across the fave of goal he will score just like a big target man does.

3412 as we have no width

Kenny

Zaliukas (c)
Pearce
Wootton

Byram
Murphy
Mowatt
Pugh

Diouf ( even a half fit diouf has more creativity than any player in this league)

McCormack
Smith

I have to agree with you there, also I don't understand why no subs have been used, is he just trying to manage fatigue on players? cause obviously the team he is putting on the park has gone stale.
I would go with Poleon up front in place of Smith, we are in desperate need of wingers, this is a tricky game and feel very uneasy about it.

I personally don`t see anything wrong at the back.3-5-2 or not .
A month or so ago i`d had some doubts but we are doing alright and it`s more fire in our belly`s and some firepower up front for me .

For once, I agree with Joe - If Diouf is fit, he should be at least on the bench. I feel he would have been a perfect substitute to bring on, in the last two games.

Egg won't drop his captain tho.

I actually think he'd be decent getting a start. Summat to prove? He was the only player to worry forest when he came on.
If it doesn't happen for him, then bring the tall lad on at ½ time. Dom will have tired their defenders - Smith could take advantage.

Wouldn't surprise me if McD sends Poleon out on loan come January

Yeah maybe so, cause he is being wasted on the bench and BM hasn't been using any subs

Smith's only threat is from crosses as he is absolutely useless on the deck, so why persist with him if we have no one to provide quality crosses ? I agree about Diouf, he is the only player in our squad who can get the ball and hold on to it while looking for a creative pass.

I don`t think diouf is that favourable with Bmc D and team selections seem to suggest this .

Would like to see Byram given the start. Needs to get consistent pitch time to help get his form back. Though not sure he is 100% back from injury either?

What is the story on Byram - seems like his injury is dragging on or is it just match fitness?

Been disappointed with the games over the holiday period, a lot of passes back to Kenny to boot up the field, playing through the midfield seems to be a lost art. Agree with a lot on here as regards Lees too.

Hopefully coffers will be open in January - but then again we always seem to be saying this every year !

I rather enjoyed the match :P ref was s**t, crowd was good, Ross squared up to one of their players right in front of me, Austin was all over the pitch, shame about the result. :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.
