Surely we need to win this. Cellino is right in my opinion. The side is more than capable to win these games. Hopefully things start to change for the better.

I thought more may have turned up for Il Presidente's home debut - maybe he's got to buy ER first as he walks the walk!

A little better today, although the opposition were'nt exactly top notch.

Butland was solid but wasn't put under too much pressue.
Wotton Not my idea of a wing back distribution very poor
Lees He is what he is, a HOOFER
Peirce Solid today been the best defender this season
Zaliukas Not convinced he is the real deal, had a few dodgy moments today, but was OK
Warnock Good game worked very hard down the left
Tonge OK but methinks his legs have gone !!!!
Brown My MOTM, was all over the place went missing a bit in second half but finished strongly
Murphy Was a close second to Brown took his goals very well..
Smith What was up with him today was poor didn't win a header and subbed early 2nd half
McCormack Had a poor game in my opinion made the first goal that was about it

SUBS.

Hunt What was all that booing about ??? good header to lay on second goal
White Worked hard and got stuck in

Not a bad performance by any means at least we are safe now...

Just got in! Finally a Win! Whilst it still wasn't pretty at times and I think there was a few eyebrows raised over the team selection initially it looked like a team that were going to be more workman like and the likes of Warnock, Smith, Murphy and McCormack actually seemed to benefit a bit more from it.

There were periods of hoofball, and the odd defensive mix up with players going for the same balls and a few nerve jangling moments were defensively we looked a little unsure but luckily Blackpool just didn't look like they could muster anything up other than the odd half chance that would have been lucky had it come off.

It wasn't a footballing masterclass, but what it was was a team looking a little more workmanlike, a team looking to close the ball down a little more than we've seen of late and a team looking like they were at least trying to set the record straight.. And in the end they got the 3pts that everyone needed.

Smith substitution was a bit odd, he had some periods in the first half as the typical big man and held the ball up well a couple of times distributing it out around him to McCormack and generally had done well, seemed to drift out of the game a little before the sub was made which is why possibly McD made it... Then in came Hunt and there was a dulcet boo that rang out around the ground which I couldn't quite make out if it was aimed at the change or Hunt himself...

He seemed to crack on anyway and did a fair bit if running and helped create a few things to his credit and seemed to look to at least give that extra option for a pass in the latter part of the game.

Rome wasn't built in a day and whilst it wasn't pretty at times, it's hopefully settled the nerves, removed the worry/possibility of relegation and as strange as all this has been and seemed now gives us a run in to my mind where the players and McDermot don't have excuses anymore - they now have the odd position of playing football and proving their worth...

The players seemed to go to McDermot at the end of the game in what looked like a gesture to show that they were behind him which was nice to see....

Without any doubt imo, outstanding performance

East Yorks Flyer Top 3

Murphy = 19
Warnock = 4
Brown = 3

Can't argue with that :tup: best three players on the pitch

Actaully thought Tonge did okay too but no argument with Murph getting MoM. Crowd well down on estimations but 50 points! :-D Many saying that Rossco was 'below par' but he still played in Murph for his first and an earlier chance and then set up Warnock nicely too in the 2nd half - says much about our expectations of him. Fair do's to Hunt for his role in the second.

Blackpool will be looking very nervously over their shoulder towards Millwall.

At last McDermott wakes up to the fact that Murphy is our best midfielder by a long margin. Playing in a more forward midfield role as he did successfully at Crewe, his runs from deep into the box scoring both goals which won us the game. One sublime pass that should have been converted & his get stuck in display deservingly earn him the MOTM award imo. Warnock & Brown were our other players of note, why Austin & Pugh were preferred in the past by our track-suited tactician is beyond my way of thinking. Another stinker from our No.44, fourth on the bounce I believe !

Butland - 6
Wootton - 4
Lees - 5
Zaliukas - 6
Pearce - 7
Warnock - 8
Brown - 8
Tonge - 6
Murphy - 9
Smith - 4
McCormack - 4

Subs : Hunt - 6. White - 6

Was about his only contribution, struggled to control a simple ball for one who is supposingly a quality player !

I disagree little old man. Ross did some very clever nifty mid air backward ball passes amongst other things but then again I had a better view than you :P :bear:
