Bolton v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings....

Post by 1964white »

Will be interesting to see if McDermott makes any significant changes for this game as the team more or less picked itself in the first five games with the exception of Wootton who replaced "there is always one mistake in Tom Lees" - Brian stuck with a winning team but now we have experienced our first defeat of this campaign will McD's thinking change ?

Tonge could come into the midfield, he may even risk playing Byram or give Mowatt another opportunity :-D

hi 64 BMCD wont want to change anything at the moment and i`d agree with lees sitting one or two out at moment,if only that.
Wootton and pearce so far so good as they say.Sam hopefully on the bench and raring to go soon .As for michael tongue
i,d try him certainly again in midfield.

Tonge ahead of Green, please? At least Tonge can pass FORWARD to our players (and create the odd striking chance), rather than look for a back pass to kennylump - who inevitably hoofs it up field.

With it being an away fixture, I think BMD will go for the extra defensive protection/solidity that he percieves that Green provides.

I would hope he starts with Poleon instead of Hunt.

Rudy Austin was sent off for Jamaica on Friday so good news for us in a way as he wll be suspended for their game tomorrow. Hopefully he can get an early flight back !

Feel that this is a huge game for us, if we want to be going for top 6 we need to come back with a solid preformance and get a point. It's early in the season and would hate to lose two on the bounce, momentum is key

I think we should be looking at 3 points from this one dezzy, Bolton have had a poor start and we should be at them and put them under pressure from the start.

Sounded like a very workman-like performance. Should've had at least another goal, but Varney has been taking courses in the Billy Paynter Finishing School again. With Tonge in midfield we seem to play much better and seems to pair up better with Murphy. Nice win, clean sheet, three points, awesome away support again.

What you were saying Gessa about being at them from the word go, early goal and never looked like conceding by all accounts! Solid 3 points, very happy with that!

Pity I can't be as good in the prediction leagues.

To be in with a chance of a top 6 finish , this is what we should be doing , going to the bottomteams/teams that are struggling for form and coming back with 3 points, great win.

Murphy has an excellent delivery. With a couple of decent headers in the squad I'd expect us to get a few more of those this season.

Well -I called Tonge correctly! And we won away!
From texts this evening from mates at the game and reading around the forums, Boy Hunt was our MOTM? Rodi a close 2nd? :duno:

Varney does seem to be enjoying being at Leeds after a tough start.

Great delivery by Murphy. With Byram coming back and Diouf eager to get involved we may actually have players who can cross!

The great thing that the video shows is the team spirit at Leeds. 7 players sprint (from different places on the pitch too) over to Varney to celebrate (and there may have been more cos the video cut off then). No simple handshakes or players returning to their positions. Fantastic when you see that.
