Can't stop playing Spotlights Alchemy for the Dead ATM ... and Spoonbenders How Things Repeat is also Good. Think those two will make a years end top 10, CBR probably not, way too much good music this year with Cory Hanson's Western cum leading the way atm...

My biggest surprise in the "not something I'd usually give time too" category is Water From Your Eyes - Everybody's Crushed ..

Not Riot, mate.

Only faaip & myself have recommended the Corinne Bailey Rae album.

The majority of musicians produce varying levels of music.
Evidently the B side is " Go and Feed Your Cat" Its about an opinionated cover band hack musician that thinks they know everything...
According to the NME..... :-D

I like a lot of the Beatles stuff, they are over rated though never having made a complete album. Every album having at least two complete junk songs on them. They're best as a greatest hits band.. Find your favourite, build your own playlist, burn your own CD. Don't think I've ever put a Beatles album on without skipping tracks

Take Sgt Peppers

Fixing a Hole
For the Benefit
When I'm 64
Lovely Rita

Are a complete waste of space on that album, basically poor fillers

A Day in the Life and She's Leaving Home do all the heavy lifting on what is supposed to be a seminal album.

It's the same for all Beatles albums... None of them work as albums

Yes, it was the original White Riot who joined this forum back in 2010 who recommended the Corinne Bailey Rae album at a Leeds match back in September.

He is a good pal of mine, we often text each other & he stands very close to me in the kop at ER, we chat at half-time & on our walk back to the coach pack after every game.

We have very similar music tastes!

I prefer Wishbone debut & 'Pilgrimage' to their renowned third album 'Argus'

My favourite rock band in the early 70s, brilliant live band.

Said when I saw them recently, best live guitar sound I've heard. They're on my go to every tour list atm, as long as they keep playing at places like the Flowerpot in Derby.

Just once Cussie.

I needed a Bowie album in there, one of my musical heroes i., so I omitted the brilliant Talk Talk album 'Spirits Of Eden'.

Ironically, no 60s albums in my ten, although technically the GYYYO live sessions were in that decade & the songs are from their studio albums recorded in the 60s. Live album released in 1970.

No surprises, there were no 90s albums on my ten, though I have several favourites from that decade.
