Nope not at all. Law of averages means Orta will find some good players. If yourself, Cjay, me etc had spent what Orta had I doubt we'd have done any worse and that is the problem. When you have someone that is supposed to be a specialist, is paid a fortune, has a large budget to be able to get an inifnite amount of data on the players, can scout them etc then they should do a lot better than just someone who could watch a few youtube clips.
Orta has made so many s**t signings that the handful of good ones doesn't take away the stench from all the failures. Make loads of signings and you are bound to get one or two good ones. If I gave you Orta's budget and a copy of the latest Foorball Manager game as your only source of stats you would do better than he did.
Law of averages suggests he hit on a lot more than you give him credit for.. maybe 65 % plus ... and he stunningly rebuilt our youth teams after the butchery of the three previous owners and administrationsweasel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:01 am Nope not at all. 65%!!!! I doubt it was more than 5 to 10% of his signings have been decent. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:08 am Law of averages suggests he hit on a lot more than you give him credit for.. maybe 65 % plus ... and he stunningly rebuilt our youth teams after the butchery of the three previous owners and administrations
Orta was a very good scout who hit more than he missed...
That for me was down to Radrizanni being the first one to invest in the youth side of things. Going around signing young players who had been released by Barca, Real etc is hardly like scouring round playgrounds in yorkshire looking for young kids with talent. he no doubt paid hefty wages, for the level of ability, to get these glamourous youngsters to sign for us. Anyone given a hefty budget could have done the same job of simply seeing which young players were nearing the end of their contracts and signign some of them. It is hardly like we are overflowing with young talent coming through the ranks Gray and Cresswell signed for us because of their family links with the club - that is why they signed for us not being of Victor's slippery silver tongue. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:08 am Law of averages suggests he hit on a lot more than you give him credit for.. maybe 65 % plus ... and he stunningly rebuilt our youth teams after the butchery of the three previous owners and administrations

Seems like a hugely overpaid job to me. Also hard to quantify exactly what they do or have achieved in terms of readily available stats.weasel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:02 am Orta has made so many s**t signings that the handful of good ones doesn't take away the stench from all the failures. I'm bullish on Joseph. I think he has a great future with LUFC. But you do have to be sensible with the development of young players. And if he is not playing his way into the MANAGER's starting 11 as a result of his training then he is not ready yet. I think it's great that he has earned some minutes. And I do think he is now an option off the bench for the rest of the season.
Stop givin em facts ffs, They can't deal with factsweasel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:01 am Nope not at all. Law of averages means Orta will find some good players.
