Badge #8

Has no seeming similarity with their recent/current badge/s at all

I'll go with it being a Roman column and the studious meaning for the book.

The other one i was thinking of, other than Oxford. Roman Town, famous for lock making is Wolverhampton.

Apologies Ges, I didn't see your post yesterday.

 Yes it's Wolves

Well , you live and learn. I had no idea that Wolverhampton was famous for lock making. I wondered what the relevance of the lock on the badge was.

I only knew it as my old dad once worked for Union Locks

Looks religious, a rough hewn cross and nails plus the three crowns would suggest the three kings of biblical fame. Major city or former major city, with a cathedral maybe. Doesn't look like it would be York but that sort of thing. Winchester and Canterbury don't have league clubs so struggling a bit.

Chester maybe, old Roman town/city.

Not Chester faaip, but Roman wise you're very much on the right (straight) road.

Impressive deduction !
