Harry, how about one for the 24-hour clock?
I know we don't traditionally have 24-hour clock faces but, imagine a giant clockface with the '1' in the position it's in with a normal clock and the '24' where we normally have our '12'. Since we would be dealing with double the numbers at any particular location the straight line would be in the same position too so that would give you a head start.
Select the sequential set which adds to half the total and the obverse set is clear.

Well done H

Did I understand you to say you have a book or magazine from which you find these quirky questions?

It's a good book, as opposed to "The Good Book".
