Expected Goals (xG)
Know some dont like it but it is widely used by football managers these days so must have some merit.
1) We should be top of the table, WBA 2nd, Millwall 3rd, Fulham 4th, Wednesday 5th, Stoke 6th. Bottom 3 should be Barnsley, Luton and Charlton.
Millwall and Stoke underperforming in terms of results but doing a lot right. Charlton overperforming.
2) We should have conceded 10.71 goals so we are overperforming in that respect.
3) This will tally with what many of us feel, we are vastly underperforming in front of goal. Seen some say we should have scored 10 more? Exactly right, 27.24 is our expected goals.
For the record xG said we should have won the league last season but underperformed in terms of scored and conceded.
Its not perfect xG but it does have its merits imo, can see if performances are good even if results arent and can see whats gone right and wrong.

Re: Expected Goals (xG)
I think XG shows what we can all see in Leeds's case and that is that we are poor at finishing as a team.
Last year I think we were also conceding far more than we should so at least we have, so far, improved at one end of the pitch.

Pretty much what we’ve all been saying for the last couple of months but great to see we are doing better than expected on goals conceded

Re: Expected Goals (xG)
Only exceeded our xG five times this season, by far the biggest margin today. We've needed to be more clinical all season, today we were.
Re: Expected Goals (xG)
Only three behind the joint-second highest scorers on 31 now, one more good win & we'd be amongst them

Re: Expected Goals (xG)
People talking about Brentford putting 7 past Luton today where we stuggled to break them down.
But we're 10 points ahead of Brentford with a better goal difference. Know where I'd rather be.
