The travelling squad has been announced for the tour. Bielsa is staying behind until the day before the Scum match to work with those left behind.

The squad travelling to Australia is:

GK
Kiko Casilla
Kamil Miazek

DEF
Barry Douglas
Liam Cooper
Stuart Dallas
Gaetano Berardi
Bryce Hosannah
Clarke Oduor

MID
Adam Forshaw
Pablo Hernandez
Jack Harrison
Kalvin Phillips
Jordan Stevens
Mateusz Bogusz

FWD
Kemar Roofe
Patrick Bamford

A fairly small squad there, so the group staying behind will be fairly strong too.

Shackleton
Klich
Costa

Plus the likes of Strujik, Edmonson and Kun.

So all 16 players will get a run out over the two matches

As someone who follows the NI team, is there any significance in Stuarty Dallas going to Oz, and/or BP-F not going?

Seems a v.small squad; is Bielsa eg only taking players he expects to use heavily next season? Or is he eg giving a rest to some of the players he's leaving behind?

I think Dallas and BPF both returned to pre-season training before they were required to do so, both preferred to come and fight for a place than have a longer holiday which is a great attitude (in contrast supposedly to PJ). Maybe Dallas asked to go as he missed so much of last season with injury that he wants to give himself every opportunity, plus his versatility will be useful with us only taking 16. It does however suggest BPF's has dropped down the pecking order (or if he is 2nd choice we are trying to loan him out somewhere so better for him to be in the country so he can go to a new club straightaway).

I think Alioski returned early too but with him being injured at the end of last season his fitness may be behind the likes of Dallas.
