Dodgy few moments but in an unfamiliar role in a game which many senior teammates were having dodgy dodgy games the young Dutch defender did a sterling job in dm.

Well done Pascal and nice to have a bit of height and power in the side and a great ball to Ali to

Naturally took him some time to get into a game that had battered the rest of them. Under the circumstances, I think he did a cracking job and the clean sheet speaks for itself.

Struijk for CDM on Sunday? White back into CD?

Looks a cracking prospect and considering his lack of experience showed great composure once he'd settled down and very nearly had a hand in a goal for us. I wouldn't be concerned if he started on Sunday and Bielsa knows he can call on him for sure now.

He's been playing DMF in the reserves IIRC correctly as well as CD. The added height in deep midfield was interesting. Think we have a player there..

This was a tough one for him to be dropped into. Not many were comfortable around him and he did wobble to start with but soon imposed himself on the game and came out with great credit. He’s a strong lad and looks like he may be a serious prospect. He’d be a badly needed added option.

Still nearly a month shy of his 21st birthday.

He looked a keeper today; would definitely consider him in CMF on Sunday. He'd give us fresh legs while allowing White to move back to his more comfortable spot.

I was watching the other players around him carefully and they looked pleased as punch with the lad. Getting that sort of praise will do wonders for his confidence.

Saw Ayling give him a tap or two on the head after he had made a block, as
if to say good on you my son.

I thought he was a bit dazed when he first came on, but who wouldn't be
with all that chopping and changing at the back. It was as though Bielsa was
trying to fit the wrong pieces into a jigsaw puzzle... nothing was clicking into
place. Most of the 2nd half was a disjointed effort.

However he warmed to the task and did play a delightful ball through to Alioski
which nearly resulted in a goal, and that seemed to do his confidence a world of good
and he looked more assured after that.

With Costa and Phillip's both injured, the Derby game will present Marcello with
a new jigsaw to solve.

I'm pleased for him, he's looked good in the u23's and could be a real talent, maybe even a replacement for Ben White?

I'd love to see more of these younger players get a game, maybe against charlton if we get the point on sunday?

That has my vote.

Would love to see Poveda get a proper run out against serious opposition too. Once promotion's secured of course. :)

If was a difficult game to get thrown in for. Still early days but he acquitted his self well in difficult circumstances. I would like to see him in a game when we are well on top and he can express himself more. Great to see him out there though, first time i have seen him play.

At least when Kalvin goes to Man City for £60m next summer, we have a ready made replacement.

He will be Berardi's replacement, who can drop into DM when needed. Just need to sort Ben White out now.
