Very easy to judge in hindsight, never as easy when actually signing a player. Anita was fairly much like Barry Douglas, he had been a regular for a team that had got promoted. Anita also offered versatility being able to play both full back positions and defensive midfield. Throw in the fact that he had been capped 3 times for Holland and it seemed a great signing and a bit of a coup for us to get him. How much would he have cost if he hadn't have been a free agent?

Just thinking about this.
So we have the loan done, fair enough.
How are we planning on paying the rumoured £12mil transfer fee or £30-40k a week contract?
Radz isnt the sort of owner to gamble, so he surely isnt gambling on us being promoted?
Could sell players if we arent but for example if we have a dreadful season maybe our key players won't be as valuable.
Interesting.

Interesting.
He's£20k per week and we're paying the full amount.

I meant next season.
We have to find £12mil and probably a wage rise to hence the £30-40k estimate i put on.
Where is that coming from? The £12mil especially.
Not a dig at Radz or anything I'm just genuinely curious how we will suddenly have £12mil spare.
I tongue in cheek said "our friends from the East" . . But if not that then how?
Not complaining just wondering, hoped for an option to buy but an obligation was a shock.

Why would we give him a neat or 100% pay rise just for going up, Wolves didn't.
They obviously know something the vast majority are guessing.

Why would he agree to come here on a permanent deal in 12months without some sort of incentive?
He hasnt agreed to come to a potentially 2nd division club in 12months without something to sweeten the deal.

Mr Bloom reckons he is the championship signing of the summer so far

Costa has looked bright in all his games imo.
Pacey and direct, everything we lacked last season.
Maybe not quite up to BielsaBall yet but individually he has impressed.
Teams are scared of him (hence him getting hacked down often already ).
2 really good assists last night, great corner and clever run and cross.
No coincidence we looked far more of a threat when he went right and Clarke left.
Hope MB stops trying to play Costa on the left, he isnt a left winger, he made his name on the right so play him in his best position please.

People may call it hindsight but quite a few have been calling for him to start.
Cant argue with his contribution.
91 minutes played (in the league in total)
1 assist
5 successful dribbles
82% pass accuracy
3 chances created
Understand the don't change a winning side philosophy but same as last season, without someone like Costa we are relying on the perfect goal.
Hernandez is still Hernandez but he cant do it himself all the time (poor today), Harrison has improved but he still isn't all that creative, his end product still lacks (1.5 chances created per game compared to Costa's 3).
Forshaw is Forshaw and for all the good things we may all be living on Mars before he scores or creates a goal from nothing.
Klich is yet to find his shooting boots.
Costa looks a threat every time he plays, teams are scared of him, he can drag us down the pitch rather then relying on pass and move.
Surely he will start the next game now?

Agree Cjay. Can't believe that a player with his ability to cause havoc with opposition defences is left on the bench, something must be happening in training that we aren't privy to.

Something has to change especially when we play at home
ER is supposed to be a fortress not a sweet shop

away teams now seem to thrive on playing at er.
was pretty tame yesterday
the crowd used to be our 12th man . need to be more hostile and snarling like the good old days .
as for costa , he needs to start. better player than harrison .

Harrison back to the form of the first six months in his Leeds career
Wingers are so erratic !

I'd rather not see Costa on the left, he'd need to replace Pablo on the right to get full benefit

I think he plays better when Ailioski isnt around, we saw it really in evidence during the Wigan game.
Costa has more goals than assists than Harrison already in about half the minutes.

Would rather see Pablo go to the no.10 role, drop Forshaw and have Costa on the right.

Wonder if Costa not appearing for the u23s is an indication that he will start vs Derby?
