Helder Costa

Post by Cjay »

Since this rumour seems to have some legs (unless he has taken to following random teams on social media to pass the time).

So the 25 year old is a proven performer at this level.

In the 2016/2017 season he was Wolves record signing and without him they would not be where they are now, think thats fair to say, they would in all likelihood have been relegated to League 1 without him that year.

Unfortunately at the back end of that season he suffered a serious ankle injury in April which kept him out till September and it seems he hasnt been the same ever since.

Thats not to say he didnt contribute to Wolves getting promoted, 5 goals and 6 assists in just 1758 minutes in 2017/2018.

But there seems to be a feeling that he hasnt been the same since, lost some confidence and pace.

But Bielsa is a man who is famous for improving players, even his critics admit that, its a gift few managers have, so if anyone can help Costa find his form then it is MB.

Heart would love a permanent but we know its going to be a loan.

Regardless, are we about to welcome our first signing and would we be happy?

So that's why we are after Costa, he's injury prone & not the same player he was !

However I do think he’ll be a fantastic addition to the squad ( but then I thought that about Bamber  ) and he’ll definitely be better than Harrison

I won't be believing it until I see him holding the shirt after the Dan James fiasco.

We'v had a number of players follow Leeds on twitter amid rumours only for nothing to come of it. So not holding my breath.

We've been firm favourites to sign Costa since his odds came available, that changed today.

Aston Villa now favourites.

Great signing. But I presume the permanent transfer would only be on a promotion basis, otherwise how would we afford him?

We have committed to a definite signing next season so this tells me that there is an influx of cash coming into the club, whether thats QSI takeover or a them taking a small stake in the business.

The alternative is someone else is sold (and if Swedish media is right thats exactly whats happening with Jansson).

Radz wouldn't commit to that much money without a plan so its either .

1) outside investment
2) a key player sold to cover it.

Meh, souls are overrated.

Rather be able to keep our best players for more then a season :)

But i suspect unfortunately Jansson will fund this :(
