Monk is becoming a championship journeyman

A return to Swansea or if Stop Crying Frank heads to Chelsea I could see Monk ending up at Derby

40 years old and already looking for his 5th club. Just imagine how many it will be if he lasts another 20 years. 🙈

Good manager for me but I get the irrational animosity.

Had Small Heath punching above their weight last season. The owners are demanding a better style of football 🤣. (They did the same thing when they sacked Rowett for Zola, didn't work then either) Meanwhile they swapped their record signing and most creative player Jota, for a bang average grafter gary Gardner.
That's when the split first came to light. It was believed the deal involved 4 million plus Gardner. The board then declared it was 2 million cash plus Gardner valued at 2 million for a 4 million deal. Monk was outraged as were their fans. (They probably could have got Gardner on a free if they'd held their nerve).
I'm sure the sale of Che Adams must be close with Monk being told he'll see nothing of the money for new players, as the cause of the new rift.

There seemed to be a number of their fans who wanted Rowett. Think they've got the lesser of two evils in Monk.

Garry Monk has been sacked after 14 months in charge at Hillsborough

So where next for his sixth managerial job?

He has only been managing since February 2014.

5 clubs already.

Not to mention the dodgy allegations that have been said against him by previous clubs (nothing proven).

Fortunately for him he is English and the media will big him up and he will get another job.

You wouldn't get five or six managerial chances after dismissals in civvy street

These people are just making money for old rope

Football owners need to take a long hard look at themselves for employing such people

No doubt someone else who has been sacked numerous times will get the job (Pulis, Allardyce etc)

Isn’t it the case that to a greater or lesser extent all managerial appointments are a gamble.

MB’s appointment at Leeds was a gamble. A gamble that has paid off it style, but at the time there were people on here who didn’t want to take the gamble on him.

The likes of Pullis, Warnock, Allardyce are seen as a safe pair of hands, so will always be employable.

Look at Middlesbrough - maybe took a gamble on Woodgate, it didn’t work out so Steve Gibson (a respected/sensible owner) went back to the tried and tested of Warnock, who to be fair seems to have steadied the ship, albeit with his brand of 0-0, 1-0.

Everton pursued and paid out big bucks to land both Koeman and Silva and neither worked out. Who did they turn to after Silva - Allardyce.

Stoke, consistent in the PL under Pullis. Decide to get rid and it’s been downhill since.

I’m not saying that the likes of Warnock/Pullis/Allardyce are the right choice, but you can understand why club’s keep employing them.

Phil Neville, Paul Cook and Nigel Pearson are the front runners apparently.

Christ. Took them long enough.

Will always be a championship manager at best. Not a fan of the way he operates, not particularly inventive and certainly disloyal.

He'll probably spend about six months, doing pundit work on TV and The like living off the pay off money then some club will have sacked their manager and he'll be available without the need for them to pay compo money to another club . He's just another member of the managerial merry-go-round that keeps getting jobs and keeps getting sacked. Football management must be one of the only occupations where you can keep getting jobs having just Bee sacked from your previous one for being useless
