Retain as one of our main CB's next season ? Coops grew last season and stepped up quite a few times but he’s not a top class CB so if get better in then he’s on the bench for me
Retain as a bench player ? Yes if we get better in
Move on ? No decent squad player
Rating out of 10 last season strong 7

Retain as one of our main CB's next season? No. Big games you can't make errors and he gave away 2 goals needlessly in the second leg v Derby and floundered in the build up to Sheff Utd's winner. Also seems to lose his head at times, which in the past led to red cards for needless lunges and I think he had lost his head in the second half v Derby which led to him giving away a needless penalty. As such he can't be a first team starter or the captain.
Retain as a bench player? He is massively improved and unlikely we could get a better centreback just to come and sit on the bench. However would he be happy with that role - I would guess probably not so you would have an unhappy player, ex captain, hanging around the squad which wouldn't be good. As such although ability wise I'd keep him as back up I don't think it would be a good idea so ultimately I would say NO.
Move on ? Yes. Likely we'd get a reasonable fee as he could do a good job in the championship.
Rating out of 10 last season: For a lot of the season would be 7.5 but ultimately cost us in the really important matches - if he didn't play in those matches we a) might have got automatic promotion or b) would have made the play-off final. As such overall 6.5

I’d have copper on the bench with a new cb partnering Pontus, 7/10
I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat..
Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper
Nowhere near good enough to be a starter, he made mistakes in all our key games. We'll never get promoted if we keep picking Cooper and Ayling in defence.
Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper
Much improved over the season, but panics in big games, and as such, certainly should not be captain.
For me, bench the bugger and get another to partner Pontus (should he still be here)
7 points for the season (season before it would have been 3.5)

Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper
This is a hard one. He's definitely improved since being here, but as has been said, I don't think he's anywhere near the other top level championship CBs. He did get into the team of the season though.
I always try to judge players on whether other teams around is would take them. Players like Pontus, Roofe, Phillips would walk into most teams in the championship (and some premier teams), but I have a feeling Coops would end up somewhere mid-table...
That said, he's clearly a popular member of the squad having been selected as captain by the players two seasons running. Would we want to potentially cause upset by getting rid of a decent squad player?
I would keep as a squad player if we can get an improvement to partner PJ. By no means the end of the world if they are our starting CBs though.
Errors cost us crucial games, bit overall had a good season I thought. 6.5

Much improved player under Bielsa's guidance
Bottled it in big games plus Cooper is not a leader imo!
We need to find a class CB to play alongside Pontus
Keep Cooper as our 3rd CB
Rating 7/10

a liability for me . i'd keep as a fill in . we need a leader at the back along side pontus . bench him . overall rating 6 and a half.

Retain as a bench player.
Much improved last season but still has to many mistakes in him.
Seems a good lad but he goes to pieces when it matters (playoff semi final 2 of the goals were his fault).
He isnt good enough for anyone to want to buy him off us and that for me tells us we should be looking for better.
6.5 as he let us down in to many big games.

Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper
Think I like Liam Cooper as retained next season as cover for the squad that delivers on promotion .I wouldn't like to lose him at all, team Captain, gives his all & is if only a championship level player.
Can defend and score some big goals for us though he can struggle too like concentration & rash at times.
Not enough to say get rid though.
Rating for me is a 7.

Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper
Is be surprised if Cooper moved on. As such he will probably retain his spot in the starting 11... I can’t see him being used as a bench player— especially as we understand MB uses a small player pool.
For me we will need a new captain but I can’t seeing any change there either.
Reluctantly keep.
