Aston Villa v Derby

Post by 1964white »

Can't stand Smith & Terry but I do hope Villa don't slip up against the deceitful grease ball Lampard & their cheating owners

I did vote for Villa (against my better nature) when I put up a similar poll 'Who would win the play-offs' so I have to stick with the brummies.

I just didn't fancy Leeds due to our vulnerability/inadequacies in our play that was plainly obvious during 2019. For me our season was finished as I walked out of ER at the end of the Wigan game

Anyway Villa for me

Said all along I've got a horrible feeling it will be Derby. I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah i also said that in the original thread 'who will win the play offs' and I still think they're destined to go up.
I can just see Lampard's smug face now.
I definitely won't be watching.

It's too much of a horror show not to happen, isn't it.

The blessing is the rams would last only one season in the premiership with Lampard long gone as he'd be out of his depth

Probably true, but it'd still be galling to see them escape from the consequences of their financial chicanery.

Always thought after the nonsense with Derby we would see them in the playoffs and get turned over. Can't see past Villa winning this.

The team I least want to win usually end up the winning team in play off finals so I'm very sorry to say that will be Derby today - they will win on penalties.

Terrible to consider one of these two will be playing premier league football next season. All things aside if we hadn’t had history with them both I’d want Villa to go up as I’ve never liked Derby.

Villa are a better side, with a better manager, have better support, and are in better form. I realise these types of matches are generally close, but I honestly think Villa will win by a couple. I just don’t think Derby are any good, and nor is FF.

I thought I'd dealt with the disappointment but watching this 5th vs 6th playoff is bringing it all back now. I know it's the rules but it just feels like an injustice when 5th or 6th can go up. Time to axe the playoffs.

Villa had two chances to score so far

One air-shot from six yards

I just read that Ross McCormack will be on 77k a week next year if Villa promote.
