Charlton v Sunderland today

Post by 1964white »

Another 3pm kick-off

So it's Charlton or the Mackems to follow Luton & Barnsley to the championship come 5pm

Think I'd prefer Sunderland although those steps up to the top tier can be a struggle for some, no problem for a fit old b*gg*r like me

Shocking og gives Sunderland the lead. Terrible back pass but feel keeper could’ve done more

Apart from that Rich, both teams play decent football at this level. Only watched the last 30 minutes but it seems the Mackems play almost Bielsa-style, playing from the back in little triangles down the flanks with plenty of pressing from in the middle of the park, not much hoof so far. Well worked equaliser from Charlton

From what I've witnessed so far I'm not surprised Sunderland have lost the 3rd least amount of games in all the leagues after Liverpool & Citeh, five defeats all season.

 Great

Brentford, Qpr, Fulham and now Charlton. Four away days to the big smoke.

-12 points and we haven't kicked a ball yet

Stop it Rich, at this rate we could be mid-table before the season starts ;-)

Five long away days for precious little reward

And I read somewhere the championship will be easier next season

I do indeed, 5-1 I recall, I’m pretty sure we had jailbird Adam Johnson in our line up that day. I remember we didn’t start too bad and it was 1-1 at HT after which it went rapidly downhill, I made the decision to leave just after their 4th and catch an earlier train home, I was making my way to the station and heard a cheer which I thought was the final whistle, it wasn’t while later I realised it was their 5th. Total shambles that day
