Hearts v Celtic - TREBLE TREBLE ?

Post by 1964white »

It has taken 140 games for Celtic to get to the brink of a treble treble. Now they are just 90 minutes on Saturday from completing an unprecedented feat.

The Parkhead club have won every domestic Scottish honour available for the past three seasons. Securing a ninth successive piece of silverware in the Scottish Cup final would clinch the sixth treble in Celtic's history and their most special of all.

Neil Lennon's team have yet to concede in the competition this season - and have won all four ties by at least two goals - but face a Hearts side who are not heading to Hampden to make up the numbers.

So will Celtic do it ?

I'm looking for to 2023 when this thread will be about us. Next year, promotion will suffice.

But back on topic, I reckon Celtic will do it.

That late 60's/70's side was one of the greatest teams I've ever seen

To think how much Scottish football has deteriorated since

Has any nation's football team fallen in standard as much as the Scots have?

Hungary maybe who had that golden spell in the 50s

I remember when at school in the village we lived outside Lincoln in the mid-late 70's there was a kid in my class (called Trevor Harrsion - kids just don't get called Trevor these days do they !!) who supported Celtic. There was no logical reason why he should support them, after all Lincoln is not on the doorstep of Glasgow is it and his family weren't Scottish. I think it was one of those cases where he just picked a team to follow that no-one else did.

Of course they'll win their treble treble, but I wouldn't put it down to Lennon's tactical acumen.

I see the Scots believe in tradition as their cup final kicks off at 3pm

Great to see.

Rangers fans thought Gerrard would save them ffs..

Had Rodgers stayed Celtic would be odds on for a quadriple treble.

No interest in the result other than Scottish football needs Celtic to start losing to strengthen the league, how did Shog do?

As did the press/media, they were all over Gerrard & Lampard last summer even though they were total novices in football management

Just as with Kewell I'd love to see them both fail
