He scored 2 goals for Barnsley in 16/17 and none for Bristol City in 17/18. Scoring less than 10 in L1 standard SPL does not scream promotion standard.

I'm starting to get pissed off now. We say we're going to focus on loans, yet shite like Harrison, Kent and Brighton defender on loan at Peterborough is the best we can do. Let's be honest, Costa is just the usual hot air/attention seeking from Radz to pretend we're looking at good players and we won't sign him.

How about we use Bielsa to start attracting quality on loan?
Im willing to wait a while but if £5mil is genuinely our loan budget then not going to get excited, thats peanuts even for loans.

Harry Wilson was £2.5mil just for the loan fee never mind the wages and Villa paid over £1mil just in loan fees for Mings, Abraham and El Ghazi as well as a large chunk of all there wages (reportedly all of El Ghazi's £30k wages which is about £1.5mil)

£5mil is not going to get more then 1 quality loan so will wait and see.

Might not as well not bother and play our u23s then. If we want loans, go big. Costa and a Pablo replacement or a CB will do for me. Stop signing mediocre midtable Championship players ffs.

Btw Bristol City were fined for not picking Kent enough, so that's another player we'd be forced to play even if they aren't good enough.
What I want from an owner: 1. Ambition. 2. Wage bill control. 3. Cut spending on loan fees. 4. Better scouting. 5. Get bigger fees for our best players. 6.No ego.

Basically my view, if we have to go for straight loans with no purchase option then they have to be the absolute best possible, Costa is that ilk but they cost serious money, they arent cheap like you would think.

Villa probably spent £10mil on loans at the very least in total, we apparently spent £5mil on our loans last season :(

Yes Liverpool i know do that, they did the same to Cardiff with Grujic, dont think they charged a loan fee but huge fines if he didnt play, suspect Man City did similar with Harrison its apparently quite common.

That's my issue with PL loans, they're expensive and everything is on the parent clubs' terms. You develop for them to make sure they can charge a large fee after if you want on a permanent, fck that. I don't want youth as we have our own, I want more experienced players now.

We need to use Bielsa to attract better. For example, Franco Cervi from Benfica, he's from Rosario so would jump at Bielsa or Emiliano Rigoni from Zenit, another Argentine £900k loan fee to Atalanta last year, so much cheaper.

He is a winger, generally right side but left footed.

He fell out of favour when Wolves stopped using Wingers apparently.

Started using 3-5-2 more making Costa a bit redundant.

Played 3-4-3 under Nuno in the Championship which suited him better but he really thrived under Lambert 4-2-3-1.

Agree with all that mate.

I hate us developing other players for teams, it bugs me when we'd never be able to buy them anyway.

Even if we had gone up Man City wanted £20mil for Harrison after his poor season with us, how much would they have wanted if he had had a season like Wilson!!!!

I'd love us to use the South American market more but seems we are fixated on domestic loans a market we cant afford (takeover aside).

Much prefer Costa to Kent, but I guess he's more expensive. Kent uses way too many step overs for my liking, bit of a one trick pony.

Wolves being linked with Kalvin Philips now.

Not sure that'd be a good move for him, he isnt displacing Neves or Moutinho then he has Saiss, Gibbs-White and Dendonker to compete with for 1 spot.

He'd go into their reserves for a couple of years and play on loan in the championship...

Villa will bid £14mil for him according to John Percy (apparently he is quite accurate with Villa stuff).

I see the Clarke to Spurs transfer has raised its ugly head again....

That said 20M would be a massive windfall for an unproven player.

YEP dont think Spurs will meet Jack Clarke's £20mil valuation.

Excellent news, keep keep keep.

Being linked with a loan move for 20 year old Bournemouth goalie Mark Travers.

Some of our links are very odd.

Untried kids from Brighton and Bournemouth only on loan.

Are we really that skint?

Problem with loans is if it goes wrong then next summer we lose all the loans, the manager and we have half a dozen players out of contract.

Fulham being linked with Adam Forshaw.

We are being linked with a £250k bid for 18 year old Carlisle winger Liam McCarron.

We still seem to be focusing on the down the line signings not the right now ones we desperately need.

If funds are so tight can we really he paying 6 figures for a teenager?

Also being linked with Juve striker Stephy Mavididi.

We are being linked with a £250k bid for 18 year old Carlisle winger Liam McCarron.
At just 18-years-old, he now has 20 first team appearances to his name.

To get a sense of what a bright prospect he is, we looked back to the comments from Carlisle United academy boss Darren Edmondson earlier in the season.

Speaking to the club's official website, he raved about McCarron's professionalism and confidence.

He said: "He’s always had pace and the belief that he’s going to beat the person in front of him, but he’s become stronger with the mental aspects of the game. That was important, because it’s made him a better all-round player.

"From a footballing point of view, he’s almost a free spirit. He has the ability to go past three players at any given point, when others would have passed the ball and moved to a different area.

“He’s an out-and-out winger who has pace, power and strength and he can take people on. That’s something we tried not to coach out of him, so what we’ve looked at with him is making sure he knows his responsibilities when the team doesn’t have the ball."

Edmondson did say that McCarron's ascent to the first team had come a year earlier than he had anticipated.

No goals & one assist in his 20 appearances for the League 2 side

It seems he is highly regarded though, Wolves also chasing him
