The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 25th Mar)
Good Morning Everyone
Should Leeds finish in the play offs, which teams would you like to avoid, and why?
Former Leeds legend Gary McAllister was attacked on Saturday night in Leeds city centre waiting for a taxi.
It is claimed that McAllister fell to the floor after being punched in the face and that his wife fought to pull the attacker off him, suffering a wrist injury in the process.
The Sun report that local police took McAllister to Leeds General Infirmary — where he needed at least 10 stitches in his top lip — after the attacker fled the scene.
Selling McAllister to Liverpool was a bigger mistake (imo) than any bad signing Lee Sharpe, Tomas Brolin and Seth Johnson combined.
It was Macca's goals for the Reds (most of them in the last 5 minutes of their matches) that gave the Merseysiders the slim advantage that kept Leeds out of the Champions League that season!
The difference between third and fourth has a colossal financial impact on the Whites!!!
If you could have one player from any other Championship club, who would it be, and why?

Hi EB
There is no team I'd particularly wish to avoid
Sorry, but we sold McAllister to Coventry.
Whoever has been the key player to Norwich's and Sheffield Utd's success this season - that way we'd be top.

Avoid all of them, I really don't want the play-offs
There was a stat floating around that the team at the top of the table at Christmas time generally are promoted, would be typical Leeds to break that stat.
Had we shown a little more ambition we wouldn't be chasing the canaries & the blunts, we'd be dominating the championship. Casilla was a great signing however that was not enough, we needed pace/game changer, now it's squeaky bum time as we try to get over the line.
As for the Gary MCallister cowardly attack, all down to the sick aggressive world we live in
James would have been ideal, he'd have given us pace & a end product, something our cheap loan signing Harrison struggles to offer.
A prolific goalscorer like Pukki if he fitted into our system. We'd be more or less up by now

Evening Harry,
Blimey, you're right....
Erm, I mean you spotted the deliberate mistake and you win a prize....
Macca only scored 5 goals for Pool, but everyone really hurt Leeds....

I said at the time, and I'll say again, I'm flabbergasted that Leeds did not strengthen the SQUAD with some seasoned professionals especially after how unfortunate we had been on the injury front during the first half of the season! We are talking about 150m.
I wonder how Norwich or the Blades would have fared if they had had the same number of injuries as us?

Sorry to hear Macca got attacked. Hope he is OK.
I have a recurring nightmare we play Derby in the playoffs. Frank looking smug when it comes to pens and Kiko won’t allow himself to be subbed to allow our penalty stopper specialist on....Bailey P.
Re the window and trying to sign a seasoned pro or two....
We do have a fit Stuart Dallas......

Afternoon All,
I really don't want to have to think about the play off even though it's a reality we may have to face.
I still think there are more twists and turns to come though.
The attack on MCallister is pure cowardice, nothing else. Hopefully the assailant will be caught and receive a custodial sentence.
I'd like Adam Reach from the Wendies if we could have one player. He stands out in their team and gets a few goals.
How can Mimi cheddar be so low? They're lush especially the Branston Pickle ones.
Excited about seeing the U23's at Colchester tonight.

Boro just cos their style of play least suits us and they have good strikers, even though the strikers have under performed they can be clinical on the day and that could be crucial in play-off matches.
Selling McAllister to Liverpool was a bigger mistake (imo) than any bad signing Lee Sharpe, Tomas Brolin and Seth Johnson combined.

Macca was the club captain and wanted to leave - albeit he went from us to Coventry not direct to Liverpool. For the club captain to ask to leave to go to Coventry (managed at the time by Gordon Strachan) was disgraceful behaviour from him (although not in any way condoning the attack). Thankfully the money we received enable Wilko to sign Nigel Martyn who was an excellent signing.

Dan James because Bielsa wants him.

Rarely eat crisps Matt
I use to eat Smiths/Golden Wonder cheese & onion crisps many moons ago
Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 25th Mar)
Best crisps are Pipers, especially the chorizo flavour. For s&v I'd go Seabrooks. Any decent snack option has to include twiglets, bacon fries and mini cheddars, but my all time favourite salt hit pub snack is Burtons Fish n Chips.
