Health and Safety, Indian railway style

Post by Norm »

All the people who complain about railway travel in the U.K. really ought to see how the other half lives!

'elf 'n safety in the U.K. would have a cow if faced with anything like this.

Never been to India mate and can't imagine the state of a train like that. There's allegedly 23 million rail passengers per day in India so it's unimaginable except, obviously, to you in amongst your travels and travails.

A few guys I used to work with in London were steam loco fans and actually travelled to far off countries to travel behind them/take photos, etc., and their comments on the behaviour of the Indian populace was that they would stop, squat in the street and defecate, then carry on without a qualm. I suppose when you've got 1.2/1.3 billion people there's not a lot of 'after you mate' about.
