What is the world coming to?
A referee has been suspended for three matches for using rock, paper, scissors to decide who kicked off in a ladies match because he had forgotten to take a coin on to the pitch with him. Apparently the coin toss is written into the laws of the game.
I personally think he showed some common sense and avoided delaying the start of the game while he went back to the changing room to get a coin.
At the end of the day the coin toss is only to determine kick off and which half you start in so as long as both sides agreed to the 'alternative' method, what is the problem?
Another example of bureaucracy gone mad.
